Changing the name

I see you can't change the display name. Is the reason because its annoying someone changing his/hers name repeatedly?
I was just going to do minor change, from drandula to Drandula.

So because user can't change it, can you do that, or is it too big thing for so small reason?

I changed the name a little over 30 minutes ago from the time I made this post. And yeah, the reason regular members can't change their display names is for that reason - and although staff members are able to modify their own names they shouldn't do it too much out of a sake of principle. Also though, normally a name change request can more easily be done by just sending a PM to an administrator - if a member who is not that well known asks to have their name changed to something way different they may get denied but typically simple fixes of capitalization or shortened versions of names are alright and will mostly likely get approved.

Yeah first the staff thought about having a procedure for a name change. First you had to print out a form and fill it in a dozen times. Make 20 page essay on why it your name should change and why you deserve that honor. But than they though "Who in hell would ever take the time to read it." So they dropped the idea.  XD

This is what people who say that ZFGC is run like a business actually believe. I feel the need to state that Niek's post was sarcasm because my habits make what he said still sound somewhat plausible.

Actually no that's not 4Sword, but thanks for the mention :P

Name changes were pretty much stopped when we had a bunch of users who would abuse it. People who would want their name changed constantly. 9/10 times it was people who broke the rules a lot, and it just added additional grief for the mod staff due to having to realize that *user X* is really *previous rulebreaker*. Not businessy, just smart.

Now it shouldn't be a problem at all. You've never broken any rules and it wouldn't cause any problems.

^This is what people who say that ZFGC should be run like a group of normal people without a shitload of bureaucracy tainting what they do and hates having 30 page discussions on any major issue before anything *hopefully* gets solved actually believe.

I remember when me and possum changed our names to each others when we could change names, it was pretty funny for a bit lol.

I know that over on RPM you can change your name in their designated thread, but you need to wait 2 weeks between name changes and also you have to put who you were previously in your sig. For instance, over there I'm known as Talyn, but Mirby is plastered all over my sig.
