CMS Testing
« on: March 25, 2012, 10:57:40 pm »
So I'm going to need people to run around the CMS and tell me if there's anything broken on it.

http://beta.zfgc.com/

I've went in and did some modifications to the CMS involving bug fixes and doing some patches to get the CMS current on SMF2 as there were some changes to its database.

If all goes well, then I will port Vaati to the CMS then release on the index. This will be the CMS until Ken and I develop the brand new site.

Regards,

Would help if you could be more descriptive. Trying to figure out how you encountered that error.

Sorry, I'm not getting that. But I'm definitely looking into it. Thanks.

All images are broken, the theme does not match my selected theme, I am successfully logged into my account on the CMS

This was encountered by simply loading the page. Latest version of Chrome, fairly vanilla install. I have adblock plus but that won't affect it

I haven't yet run into any of the above mentioned problems other than the theme not matching, but I'll keep bug hunting.  Firefox 11.0.

Ok, I have an idea of where to look now that you noted the images. As for the theme, that's hard-coded by WWFan, not me. I have to port that.

Anyways, I'll figure it out momentarily. Thanks for your help.

Another thing to note is in the near future you should rewrite the code for the navigation bar. Windy's implementation has always been horrible, it made the CMS too hard to navigate for its own good

Something that doesn't rely so much on mouse-overs would make it a lot more functional

Just some friendly feedback

We've got plans to improve everything, actually. I'm just trying to fix up the CMS to restore lost functionality. I mean, the CMS "is" mostly working aside from this settings issue that I'm trying to narrow down.

But as for this codebase, I don't anticipate it will have a long lifespan.

Yeah, I hear you man. The CMS was kinda thrown into my lap so I'm trying to learn how it works for the first time while shuffling through the rest of ZFGC. Normally these kinds of problems I wouldn't have issues with. ^
