Well, just because this is my first finished game doesn't mean you need to go "easy on it."  Any comments at all would be welcome(and even if they aren't, it's your opinion.  It wouldn't be my fault that you didn't enjoy the game(to an extent)).

Story:
I didn't bother much with the story, because side-scrollers aren't really meant to have long, complex stories, but here's what I came up with: A monster called the Shadow Dragon, that lives in the Stormy Skies, ate Mario's soul, thus cutting him off from the world of the living, where Peach was and could now be kidnapped by Bowser(again) with nobody to stop him.  Now Mario needs to venture to the skies and take his soul back from the beast.

How to Play:
Arrow Keys-Move/Climb/Duck(if you duck and you slide under some obstacles, such as invisible blocks)
Ctrl-Jump
Shift-Hold to run faster and jump farther
Enter-Pause the game
Click-Choose options at title screen/Save the game(in Easy version)
Space bar-Load the game you saved(at any time)(both)
R Key-Restart the level(at any time)

Goal:
The goal in this game is to get to the end of each level(there will be two levels and a fortress/castle and boss per world) and hit the gray box marked with the "!" However, there are some secret passages in each of the levels that make it easier to get through the game.(and, on depending on which version you download, either checkpoint, or being allowed to save at any time by clicking anywhere on the screen)

Download:
Since I couldn't make up my mind, I made two versions of this game, which are mostly the same except for the saving system.
Easy version-Able to save at any time by clicking on the screen
Hard version-Only able to save by getting the checkpoints, which are the red "!"-marked boxes.
Note: They're both .zip files

You already have a topic about this.l For future reference just ask a mod to move it next time, don't create a new one.

How was I supposed to know?  I've read the rules in the board I posted this in before, and the only rules that were there to read were about tags.

Its common sense, it dosen't really deserve a rule in its own right.

Maybe to everyone else here it is, but it doesn't make much sense to me to have a rule and not post it.

Its common sense, why do you need a rule about it? Don't post duplicate topics, anyone can understand that and should idealy know it. Anyway, I'll leave this argument here and just lock your old topic.

Well i'm playing the game, at level 2 now, a few things:

- I can hit the blocks by standing on top of them
- mario slows down when he gets coins
- there is a bad transition between dying and starting over. No sound effect, no mario falling like in the other 2D games.
- Why is there Zelda music playing in a Mario game?
- the only sound i here when it ends are the normal mario sound effects, no mario type music

Seems nice as a demo, but not as a completed project.

You did test this yourself right?

Yes, I tested it, and I am aware of those "problems," and plan on fixing them myself eventually, although I wouldn't consider the majority of what you listed as problems.  I can use any music I like, can't I?  Or did Nintendo make some sort of rule that Mario based fan games HAVE TO have music from Mario games only?  ::)

Thanks for playing it, though.

Does it really matter? He could have used no music at all! In my Zelda game, I'm using Megaman music, Final Fantasy music, and Zelda music. As long as it fits the theme of the area, it shouldn't matter!

I FINDED SCERET PASASAGE, seriously, i tryed to play the game properly and i kept going into all the secret passages,

what you really need to do is make a destinction between the blocks you can walk on and the ones you cant, because there are heaps that look exactly the same as ones you can walk on, BUT YOO JUTS FAWL FROO TEHM, anyway i am fighting that giant goomba, why doesnt i take damage, and why doesnt he take damage?

I guess I should have, but I wanted it to be a little more challenging than those old 2D Mario games. :p

As for the boss/giant Goomba, try interacting more with the room. ;)

Neither does a 2D plumber running on a 2D screen who has had his slow eaten by a shadow dragon...

It's a fantasy game tard.  Accept it for what it is.  And like the other guy said, if it fits the area thats all that matters.
Good game
