New Chopik

I made a new Chopik! As some of you know, Chopik's life has gone through many hard changes. Most, for the worse. How's this one? I still think Chopik should have won the character competition. C & C

Cool.  I think you should re-do the swirl on the belly though.  You should shade it and maybe do something with the front legs...I'm not sure what it is, but something bothers me about them.  I think it's because the lines for them go up too high or because they should be higher on the outside instead of the inside....I dunno, try messing around with that and see if it looks better. *shrugs*

I donno. I tried a new idea. What do you think. Oldest at the left. I think the colors could be better on the new one. I tried a simple shading style too.

It looks alot better than the one you entered in the character competition a while back, I think you should enter it for the next competition.

Maybe if you combined the legs of the first (i.e. oldest) Chopik with the rest of the latest one?
Dunno, liked them the best of all of the versions.

But besides the legs I really like the new one.

Honestly, I don't really see any significant differences between this new Chopik and the old ones. Try something different, like maybe drawing from a different angle.

And also: of course you think Chopik should have won the competition. He's YOUR character.

Is there going to be something else with Chopik? A game? A comic?

And I realised, Chopik the second's belly looks like some kind of pokeball. :P

You're missing my point. There's no design differences between the two. It's the same angle, almost the same proportions, almost the same colors. I don't think this slightly more appealing depiction of your design would have swayed any votes at all.

:P Maybe. I haven't decided what to do with Chopik. Yeah. Chopik II does like a pokeball.

Mm. Yeah. But it just looks generally better. I could doodle a terribly ugly interpretation of the same pose, colors, and proportions. And it would look significantly worse.

Now lets not get our hair in a bun here... *Besides, character competition wasn't about art; Remember Goroneater? It was about character.*

I think Moldrill just wants to keep the design simple. He could add giraffe spots, robot arms and ostrich legs if he wanted to, but Chopik is all about simplicity, mane! BUT that doesn't mean there can't be any Chopik fan-art like that...  >:D

Lookin' good! :D
Though I've gotta admit, I liked his legs better in the first two pictures you posted on the previous page. I consantly found it hilarious that his legs were so short, and most of all, stuck to the bottom of his round body. :P

It's a great character design, and I think you should do something more with him. A game, a comic, a movie... whatever! As long as we get to see more of him. :P

Hey, Corniune, you're back! You left the scene after the character competition.

Yeah, I say make something out of it called 'The Spiral League' It would work best as a comic... With the Dr. Dog Dogit ( :P ) as well, lulz!

I didn't really leave; I actually check the forum out every now and then. But the thing is, I never have much to say about anything. Thereby no posts. :P
But I guess that pretty much counts as leaving, haha. XD

I enjoy games and art, and I think that's the reason I keep checking back. :P
Plus, gotta keep my eyes open. There will be more character competitions, I'm sure.
