The servants of chaos have embittered the land
White knights protect darkening hearts
A twisted world awaits a fate
That the few who stand will spin

NEWS:
-June 21 2009
-Another additional screenshot, this time a teaser from one of the rooms of the 'Bed of the Sun' dungeon. In addition, I have changed the game's title to 'The Shattered Realm', after critique has been given on the original title many times.

-June 16 2009
-Well, a new batch of screenshots can be seen now, this time developmental shots from one of the game's dungeons. At present the whole thing isn't completely textured, but work on that will soon follow. Enjoy :D

-June 5 2009
-Work continues on the importer, making adjustments to ensure that the imported maps function correctly. Work has begun on 2 dungeons, screenshots will be available soon. This first post will be updated to a better format once additional content has been made.

-Well, it's been a while ^_^ Recently, thanks to the hard work of one of the field's brightest programmers, I have at last been able to import an entirely custom map into Ocarina of Time, and it is fully functional insofar as the landscape is perfectly imported. There are a few slight errors in the vertex colours, but it's mostly finished.

It has taken quite some time to arrive at this point, and it is a joy to finally see it realized. With the ability to create custom maps, the Majora's Reprisal project can proceed.

I posted the logo and one of the object files, but now it's actually in the game properly.

Some new development screenshots are on the first post, ignore the current objects visible in the screenshots, they're just the default objects generated in the map file.

The screenshots look pretty nice. Where's the story, though? :o Is there any yet?
I have some questions for you, they may sound stupid, but here it goes :P :

Is the movement smooth enough? Is it anything like the movement in the original console games?
Can you use your sword and shield yet? How about backflips and side jumps?
What about enemies, will you make custom 3D models or will you use monsters from OOT and MM?
How about maps? Will you texture everything using textures from the already existing games or will you make some yourself? Will you make a technical demo showing off the engine at some point?

I'm intersted in this project, always liked 3d zeldas more than the 2d ones. :D
Wish ya luck!

Right, to answer your questions...

Yes, the movement is smooth. It's exactly like the original console games.
Sword and shield work, backflips and side jumps work.
Enemies? Sure. All present and accounted for.
As to the maps, I'll be using a lot of pre-existing textures but I will be making custom ones.

As to the engine...well it's running on the original OOT engine ;P This is a ROM modification, so it's about as true to the original N64 games as you can get, gameplay wise. I'll be releasing a patch fairly soon once at least the beginning areas are playable. There's a lot of work to be done yet.

Insofar as story goes, there is one but I'm not going to disclose too much of it at this point. I'll say this much though, you'll recognize a lot of locations at least in part. This will be the leading game in a series :3

Ohhh, it's a ROM mod. XD I didn't grasp that part when I scanned through. :P
I'm glad you're not using the same maps, originality FTW!

This made me want to play OOT again. ;D Was the first game I ever played. :)

Thanks hotpiebob. I'll have some new screenshots up soon, within the next week or so demonstrating some slightly more complete areas. Hopefully I'll have enough material for a gameplay video in the not too distant future ^_^
