Hello members, and welcome to ZFGC Weekly! This is a new feature being added by the staff to highlight things going on in our community, relevant topics, projects, and other nifty stuff like that. Today's installment will be short, but we'll highlight a few important events.

-- For our Brawl-playing users, Laigonaz is hosting a tournament. The details can be found at http://www.zfgc.com/forum/index.php?topic=28920.0. Everything is still in progress, but he will keep you updated. For Brawling with other members, please feel free to exchange friend codes in the Brawl forum at http://www.zfgc.com/forum/index.php?board=259.0.

-- Also, check out the latest progress on Kylink's ZFGC-inspired fan fiction! I think it's more of an original story, but I digress. The latest chapter should be up very soon here: http://www.zfgc.com/forum/index.php?topic=24895.0. This is a really cool project and Kylink is completely open to community input, so make sure you have a look!

-- The ZFGC Community Project has posted updated NPC characters and sprites, which can be viewed at http://www.zfgc.com/forum/index.php?topic=28969.0. There is also an ongoing discussion about Hyrule City's layout, which can be found at http://www.zfgc.com/forum/index.php?topic=28931.90

Now for interesting topics of the moment:

Not only that, but one that can be used with the Wii. You know, one that automatically responds to friend requests and also adds that email to the newsletter list. There can even be a screenshot included with each email sent!

The interesting topics seem random in blunt honesty, but as time goes by those kinks will be worked out and I assume that it will seem a little more less disconnected; things tend to grow if you let them and sometimes it takes a while before something feels right.  It could focus a little more on interesting project updates or at least include one of them beyond the community project though.  Variety is alright, but meh, the topics that are popular from the week that just occurred are only worth mentioning if they are still active and at that rate, most people have probably already viewed and replied to the topic.

The e-mail idea for a news letter would work for the Wii. Each Wii Number has it's own e-mail so that kinda works out. I love this idea though.

Yeah! If there was a way to send the newsletter directly to the Wii of the subscribers, that would be amazing!
This is a good idea

All the staff needs is a list of Wii Numbers. I can't remember but I think the e-mail would be setup like this: w(insert wii number with no dashes, just one long number)@wii.com. I think that's it.

I think the staff already has Wii numbers for some people (look at the Friend Codes topic; Wii numbers are posted there).

Well, I know that. What if some of those people don't want a newsletter? It would work out if the staff asked members instead rather than doing it anyway.

This would be a great idea, actually. I'll talk to the administration about it soon, but they'll probably want to wait until SMF 2.0.

This is a forum based on a Nintendo series so I'd assume they'd focus on the wii more than the others.

Well it's not necessarily that more than I believe the other consoles can't receive messages in a similar manner.

Well, there's really no reason to do emails when we can simply post it here...but I imagine we could probably do that.

Just remember that, if you do a Wii newsletter, your system should automatically sign up and reply to every email it gets, that way it will work cross-system. And I love the screenshot idea, please do it. :D
