Well, that means you don't have the Pro edition of GM 7.

It's pretty nice but you really shouldn't mix GB sprites and alttp sprites with each other!

Awesome, but could you add an alarm for the holes? It's kind of annoying to fall through every time you touch one.

For some reason I think it looks great the sprite mix.
The only thing is that Link's colors are too light compare with the background/Tiles.
I tried the .EXE and this is awesome.

Makes sense. So that's the reason you organize your spelling so well?
Title: Re: [Engine]A Link to the Past Engine

i may make errors in my spelling but i am neat in IRL k. and it follows through my folders on my pc , and in my Gamemaker projects.
Title: Re: [Engine]A Link to the Past Engine
Post by: cazallx on June 27, 2007, 09:19:30 pm
this is good.

a few things work like !@#$% tho like the cracked floors and the tall grass does not have anything under it when it dies and that looks pretty ugly.
also you should add in the sword tapping aganst walls and bushes.

...Couldn't you use a script for the chest?...I mean instead of making millions of chest objects you could use one and a script...thats what I have on my game and it works perfect too.
I could help you with the script thingy, thats if gm7 isn't too different with gm5 & gm6...and it's easy to do, you could do it yourself but if you have problems I could give you a hand.

Getting better :)

I have also noticed that you can use the sword while still jumping, this is a nice feature ;)
Title: Re: [Engine]A Link to the Past Engine
Post by: Antidote on June 30, 2007, 04:37:50 am
Keep that feature dlbrooks! adds realism. I'm dl'ing the new Engine now, hell I may go ahead and use this since it has everything on the drawing board for "Zelgine*" and more.

*The engine I'm designing in GM7, so far It's nothing more than a clone of Goodnight's heart engine, and my own custom walking and collision routines.

That's a problem I usually have... D: I barely comment on my own code!

Dlbrooks... Is it ok to use your engine? As in, taking off your sample maps and use it to make your own Zelda game? Of course, crediting you for the engine!

Dlbrooks, seriously, we need to get together and make a game. With my ideas/artistic talent or something and your mahd coding skillz, we could make a freakin' epic classic.

you can use the engine to make a game, but you can't use any of the maps (cause these maps are on my fan game on this).

:D I might use it then, if I ever get an itching to make a Zelda game! (BTW, I believe you made a typo. I put it in bold, so you'd know what it is...)

Seems to be a bit of a problem, I tried FF and IE, neither would let me get it.
I then tried firebugging it, got a direct link and hash, put that in and got a 404, the site saying that the file's probably taken down.

Well I tried to download both the example and the demo the other day and they said they were under maintence at the time.  So I desided to do it the next day, but when I went to try it, no luck it started having that problem.  And it's still having that problem.  Why not try megaupload.com if you don't like the choices given.

Or he could like, NOT use a shitty file upload system and as one of the half-a-million of us who has decent web hosting to host it for him.

Slight bump, but the GMK isn't actually included in the ZIP like it says in the description, only the exe.

If you could reupload that'd be great!

NOTICE!!!

Please do not yell at me for gravedigging. I asked  dlbrooks33 if he still had the engine, and he said that he had lost it. I checked all the links around the internet, and could not find it. I sent a message to dlbrooks33, telling him, that when I had searched through my old (really old) laptop's hard-drive, I stumbled across the .gmk for it, and I'm posting it here.

That will be all. Sorry for any trouble my gravedigging has caused.

Gravedigging, or necroposting, is only okay when you have something relevant to post. This is as relevant as it gets. Way to go!
