Title: Zelda: Rupee Rush
Post by: SlimmyG on August 30, 2007, 10:03:37 pm
Hi, I only joined the forum earlier today, and this is my first attempt at gamemaking.
I'm using gamemaker 7 to make a Zelda mini game, although I'm planning to give it a fair few levels if it turns out good.

Anyway, its called "Zelda: Rupee Rush" and basically Link is out money huntin'.
Using the left, right and up arrows you control Link to gather as many rupees as you can. You have to dodge enemies as you only have 3 hearts! (although you can pick up more.)

Heres some screens:

I'm going to post a demo soon, I'm just having trouble registering my Gamemaker.

Wow, this is your first game? My first game looked absolutely terrible! This is pretty good looking. By the way, welcome to the forum.

Looks pretty cool, although gameplay seems almost identical to Fendez's game, Zelda's Rupees.

Hmm, I'd never seen that before.
I just downloaded it, it is a bit similar but still fairly different. I'm thinking of adding something like bosses to mine, I'm just trying to figue out how I'd do it.  :D

Oh, also: what should I use to upload the demo/final game?
something like megaupload?
Thanks!

So is this like where Link just constantly runs, or do you make him run forward? Also I recommend http://filefront.com you have to sign up (for free), but I think it's worth it.

If you email the file to me at shadowtreader@gmail.com, I'll upload it at GMRealm for you.

He automatically runs forward, and by using the sideways arrow keys you can make him go left or right, although he still runs forward. so Its sort of diagonally forward.

Thanks, I'll take you up on that offer if its OK. The demo if finished, I'm just having real problems registering my gamemaker 7 from lite to pro.

This actually started as a goron rolling race game, but i didn't have the sprites to make it, so I made it with Link instead.

----------------

Iv actualy done most of the game now, but im STILL having problems with stupid YoYo Games...
sorry!
