List any genres of music that you really like...
My favorite genres are:
Rock
Pop Rock
Punk
Pop-Punk
Metal
Screamo
Hardcore
Alternative
Acoustic
-
Rock & Roll. Alternative Rock.
-
I don't really pay attention to genres. It's especially hard to considering how integrated they've become.
-
I don't pay much attention to genres either, but I guess I mostly listen to rock, reggae, and metal/black metal.
-
I find it difficult to name specific genres I like, but I'll try to generalize.
-Electronic
-Rock
-Orchestra
Preferably all three smashed together. But that's not to say my musical tastes are restricted to those. I'll listen to a whole lot of stuff, as long as it's not rap, country, or jazz. I don't usually like lyrics, but I make exceptions.
-
Hip-hop.
Surprised, aren't you?
-
Rock, Metal, Hardcore, New Metal, some Death Metal, and Rap. :P
-
Death Metal
Black Metal
Doom Metal
Jazz
Some Thrash Metal
Power Metal
Progressive rock and metal.
-
Its hard to define genres but uh...Classic Rock?
Also, its kind of funny that there are like speed metal, death metal, heavy metal, black metal yet all rock songs before 1980 are classic rock. XD
-
I listen to a lot, so I'll try to keep it short. In no particular order:
Indie-Rock and Indie-Pop
Alternative
Folk and Folk Rock
Punk
Classic Rock
Psychedelic Rock
Technical, Progressive, and Brutal Death Metal
Deathgrind/Grindcore
Classical
Reggae
Electro, Trance, and various other Electronica
I mainly listen to metal and indie, but I do listen to the other genres I listed, just not as much.
-
Rock, prefferably from around 70's - 80's
Hiphop
House
Pretty much anything, I'm going through a musical shift phase pretty much and I don't know what genre to go for, so I just stopped giving a !@#$% and just listen to what I enjoy.

That's how it should be. I especially despise the people that go around believing that musical preference is the most important social thing. Some people are afraid to socialize with people of differing tastes in music, and even go on to hat people who don't like their music.

It's true. I don't understand it really, I mean it's one thing to meet and become friends with someone through a common interest, but there are too many people who only see groups instead of individuals. As far as not limiting your self to one genre, it should be that way with everything. You should refuse to watch a movie, play a game, read a book, etc, just because it's a genre you're unfamiliar with.
Perfect example - the majority of my friends claim to be gamers but refuse to even try anything that's not a shooter or a sports game. [/off-topic]

Pretty much anything except new "Rap".
-
I'm not able to mention many genres in which I don't like at least a modest variety of artists and/or songs. Although my prime preference lies with metal, I'm pretty much an all round guy and can enjoy most styles of music. I don't really like jazz (yet?), nor most of today's rap, r&b and pop. But I guess that's pretty much it.
-
I guess Punk, Regular Rock, Industrial, and Metal.
Those are what i listen to most...but i listen to pretty much every genre...except New Rap like Soulja Boy and that !@#$%.
-
I think Rap is a disgrace to music altogether - I don't even consider it music because they're not even singing. They're just talking with a beat. Where's the talent in that? - but Soulja Boy himself is an even bigger disgrace to music. I mean, there are some people that like his music and I understand that people have different tastes, but to me, he is the worst music artist ever.

When the rap is actually good it takes talent.
The same amount of talent it takes to write poetry.
Of course it doesn't take talent to spit out a stupid hook just to make money.

Well you're a dumbass. There's no singing in Motzart's symphonies, they're still fuckin' music.
I'm so !@#$% tired of all the injustified hate people have for rap. I don't like country music but you don't see me running around telling people that it "isn't music."
