Yeeeeah, I'm back in action - feels good :D You might remember this as 'Squarez' (oldskool), back in the days of old.
Well this is like Squarez..squared. That's how good it will be. Some improvements I'm making:

What www.fendez.com says:

A truly mind-numbing puzzle game. Guide your yellow square through the maze, but don???t retrace your steps, or it???s game over for you! And to add to that, you have to complete each of the 50 levels before the timer runs out!

To top it all off, you will be able to submit your scores and compete against players all over the world!

Tip: Don't go for the gem straight away, sometimes it can be a trap!

Looks great! What are you making it in? And how many levels do you have done so far? 50 seems like it'll take forever. (I was making a puzzle game but I quit because it took forever to make the levels. Maybe my imagination just sucks. :D) Anyway, I'm looking forward to it! I love puzzle games!

Yea it probably will, but not with our team, and even if it does, it will be a fun forever :D I can guarentee that Fendez wont quit on this, as we never have on any of our projects, and dont plan on it. As for all the levels, we  have a whole team (and now expanded) to do that, so i wouldnt worry :D

I'm making it in MMF. hehe 50 levels is quite a lot yeah, but alspal developed a level editor for this, so it literally only takes 3 minutes to make a level.

We'll probably be spending more time making sure the game is fun that making the actual game.

Doesn't look terribly different to me but good luck anyway.

Oh and is "mind-numbing" really that much of a compliment? "mind-bending" may be a better term but that's just me.

Looks great I cant wait to see a demo..I just love the fact that theres time for it too... that hurry up screen is so good...

Hmmm, yeah I wasn't sure whether to make this a re-release of Squarez, or make it Squarez 2....so heck, Franz thought just rename it haha. And I dunno, too much effort to change the work now haha

That's good to hear ;) Hmmmm, a demo eh? Maybe I'll go against everything I stand for and release a demo haha. But yeah, I've been quite generous with the time limit, you won't be rushing to finish each level with only 1 second to spare, but you definately won't be able to waste time thinking out the best-scoring route through the level.

I added a status section to the main post, so you get an idea how how much is left to do!!

But there could be a major hold-up  :o ...

I forgot to make the solution to one of the latter level designs. So now I'm going to have to spend aaages trying to work out how to do one of the hardest levels :(

I really like the game it's enjoyable, and you need to be quick or you loose, :P it's really good to see that you can make a real challenging game with some simple graphics.

I made a new game-mode to break up the 50 levels a bit, to offer some relief etc.

Update!! All levels are now DONE - Now for a month of testing and tweaking.

Then that means all of the Beta Tester positions are now full - Penguin and Soulja are the lucky guys who get to play Terragon a whole month before everyone else :P

This is basically the only game that deserves it, your puzzles look outstanding :D

Also, "Combat Club" coming soon, is that a HTML project...? The player VS thing on the bottom of the page looked... odd.

And xdragonsb, the block is much faster in the real game than in the trailer, CG just has a really slow PC that obviously can't handle running a game AND a screen capture program at the same time, the noob he is  ;D

No we didnt, we removed all my scores, thats a score someone else uploaded and didnt upload a name, so we changed it to nameless.

Haha I love it how somehow my scores arn't loading on the top score list. XD I beat a crap load of them at are up there but w/e... Awesome game, It's almost as addicting as my fav puzzle game ever (next to Tetris of course) Collapse. lol Good Job.

Fox is no hacker  8) The green ones give you headaches? but they're only 2/5 of the way through the game :P I guess you've done well to get that far in less than a day though.

Have any of you guys played around with the level editor yet? Would be cool if you got some level swapping going on, challenge each other to doing your own "impossible" levels :P

I'll probably release a level pack every few months or so, so you'll always have new levels to play  :)

That's the benefit of "Open source" (haha... you get me ;) ): The game will never really die.

You guys stuck in the 20s? Try level 50 when you get there, now that ones hard... As for more games like this, im very sure there will be more, just be patient :D.

Not yet, the highest level Ive reached so far is lvl 19. I just try to do as many levels starting from the first one without restarting.... It seems everytime i restart from the menu, i lose like 300 points from my score... And that adds up to a lot in the end if I restart lots of times.....

Anyway.... WHY did you have to make such an addicting game?!?!?

it resets your score to what you had when you started the level first time, then takes off an extra 250 - and yeah ofcourse it adds up, we don't want people trying forever and getting the same amount of points as someone who beats each level every time :P

Only the second green level? lol. Perhaps you should think of another way to solve it, get to that level, and then take a screenshot, use paint to solve it if its too hard. Then go back and solve it, desperate times, desperate measures, but dont give up, ruins the fun :D

Miyamoto(or someone else) said that if a game is frusterating, that means, that you want o play untill you beath the part that you are frusterated with, and that adds up to a good game.
unless you are a barbarian, and trys only once and if you can't beat it on your first try, you give up....
