Art looks really good. I'm not sure if this is a game though? Or are they just remaking the art?...

yeah... sounds like they are just working on art pretending as if it were an official game licensed by Nintendo.

« on: November 28, 2007, 05:52:36 pm »
I really don't see what's so amazing about Final Fantasy altogether. I've got FFIII and FFX. FFIII wasn't really all that good and FFX, while okay with good music, graphics, story etc, and while I do like it, isn't really on my "OMFG THIS GAME ROCKS" list.

Maybe I just don't like RPGs all that much?

I didn't like FFX that much either >_> Except Rikku, but thats for another time.

Anyways, you should try FFIX (9), I'm positive you'll like it ;D

you have been selling FFIX this whole time lol i love that game tho, but i do have to say i love the STORY in 7, not so much the game as a whole, but the universe and the story has some real depth. that and the story in the metal gear solid games are top notch

that gameranking site is garbage...none of these games can even be compared for whats better, they do not have an equal number of reviews!

OoT is number 1 based on only 31 reviews, thats trash, if someone chose not to review it, then thats the same as giving a 0, OoT should be at the bottom. (statistically speaking, as i do love that game, or did... i could never go back and play it again)

MGS snake eater has only 91% but thats based on over 350 reviews, this site is flawed, and Galaxy is good, not great, i found it to be super easy

Pissing off people who don't want a remake of FF7, and rather see SquareEnix making some original games that don't have "Final Fantasy" slapped onto it.

But they are...
New MMORPG
"Square Enix responded to the Nikkei Net article today, denying the development of an FFXI sequel altogether. Instead, the company restated what it has been saying all along since E3 2005 -- that the next-generation massively multiplayer online RPG footage presented at the show is from a completely different and original title. "Details and compatible systems will be revealed as soon as possible," read the company's denunciation."
Star Ocean 4 (working title)
"The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed that the battle system will now feature 4 party members, and be more team-oriented. The hero's name is Edge Maverick, along with the heroine, Reimi (it is not known if this is her entire name). The game will also feature more of a sci-fi emphasis than past titles, with the ability to control your own ship. It's been said this ship is quite large, and will be able to land on at least 5 planets or other space-based destinations. The game will also take place a few centuries before the original Star Ocean."
The Last Remnant
"is an upcoming console role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is being directed by Hiroshi Takai and will be the first Unreal Engine 3 game scheduled to be released by Square Enix."
...And all the Final Fantasy games can be considered original. Even if they remade 7, it wouldn't hinder their ability to produce another game at the same time, as they have 8 production teams

To all those saying they'll Milk FFVII you make it sound like they're the only company ever to milk there products o.o
No !@#$%.  I love Nintendo but god...They milk Mario for all he is worth.

On-Topic:I've been hearing rumors that Square is saving FF7re for when the Sony is in the !@#$% hole with the PS3.

never heard such a rumor, and doesn't make much sense, since Square Enix and Sony are too different companies... Why would SQEENIX save a huge money pot for when a system is failing? it would just lower the chance of sales...

Entertainment / Re: Another way to look at the Legend of Zelda games.
« on: November 04, 2007, 07:13:56 pm »
Aonuma mentioned that there is a timeline... but nowhere did he ever say that EVERY Zelda game fits in it.... OoT is an obvious and logical remake to aLttP, if anything... there are multiple dimensions or universes where these zelda games would fit in

7
i must be the only one who didn't like LA... i played the color'd version and i would get bored of it at times and have to take breaks... and when i saw that ending for the first time i thought "wow... what a waste"
the PH ending wasn't as bad.... but the bulk of the story was SOOOO lacking depth...

But I'm not even sure which is the best... OoT was a logical retry at aLttP, MM was a good sequel.... WW was fun but sailing ruins it for replay and I cannot understand how the triforce shattered... its all powerful... MC was my favorite of the gameboys

maybe OoT? I did play that one the most, I was able to walk my friend through the fire temple over the phone without using any guides haha i just asked him to describe the rooms and tell me where the doors were, it was nuts, i didn't even know i had that much recollection

8
I didnt really like the ending to TP, there wasnt much to it. They had to much build-up (even thought it seemd rushed towards the end) to just show that everyone was safe... i shut that game off expecting more, not more as in a sequel, but more as in the game didnt feel complete... WW had the best ending, this phantom hourglass is fun, but doesnt do much as far as a story for a sequel...

i like the simplicity of it, and as for your watermark; you could try reducing the opacity to zero and emboss it a little

example:

the busier the background, the more it disappears... ;)

Discussion / Re: How do you make videos for trailers of your game?
« on: November 03, 2007, 10:21:40 pm »
I don't know how many times I've had to tell everyone this, but if you're using Gamemaker it's !@#$% easy to do just in code. I've made examples, libraries, everything, and still no one believes me.

All of my games' trailers were made with nothing but gamemaker and windows move maker to edit them.

oh shoot, I'm sorry dude... I haven't even figured out how to use gamemaker yet, I'm messing around with the trial right now

But if you are NOT using Game Maker, like me...

what do you use instead?

« on: November 02, 2007, 04:53:08 pm »
I like it; except personally I wouldnt use mountain tiles around Lon Lon ranch :P It'd be more space-friendly if you just made a small fence graphic for it :P Otherwise, A+

I agree completely, however i cannot see a fence tile on the lttp map and I struggled to create the graphic customly.

I think it looks great, it's just some of the items look weird, as the others have pointed out

hmm actually I was thinking FFIV... but with closer examination it isnt anything like it, so *shrugs*

But it looks nice :P just needs some fine tuning

Yeah I first thought of Cecil's ship from FFIV too... but I like it so far; it has some great potential!!

« on: October 29, 2007, 10:39:24 pm »

Ok I fixed, using Norlem and hawthorne's suggestions... Does Dark Link need to go lighter? And If I remove any detail from Zora Armor's mask then it looks less like a mask... So I don't know what to do with that one...

Lookin pretty good.

Also I'm sure that is OSM's Link, since you said "I found this Adult Link in MC style" I guess you weren't sure who's it was.

Yeah I couldn't remember his name, OSM, the first sprite is his!! All I did was change his grey under shirt to white haha but that's so minute, I shouldn't even have mentioned it.

Ok so I have this idea for a Zelda game haunting me, and I need to try and figure out how to sprite... So I found this Adult Link in MC style as a base and tried making some edits on it, figured I'd get some input to even see if I'm going in the right direction; suggestions my friends!?
