I posted samples from ALttP in the audio section of the website, but this soundfont may include ADSR envelopes to make it sound right.

The Tingle Tuner was some of the most fun I've had in a Zelda game. I thank Tingle for that.

Otherwise, he feels boring.

Nice, an actual Kirby game and no yarn! Those special attacks look like they add something interesting to the Kirby formula. So is this for Wii or 3DS?

You could also warp in SMB3. Finish up to a certain world, then warp back to it later using warp whistles from world 1. You'll lose progress, since it's technically starting a new game and then warping to the world you left off in, but it's the closest thing to saving.

Warp whistles are here:
1-3: At the end of the level, duck on a white block and then run behind the blackness at the end of the level.
1-Fortress: At the end of the first screen with the door and the dry bones, run and fly above, then run right and keep hitting up until you find a secret room.

Using one warp whistle will bring you to the warp zone with worlds 1-3. In worlds 2-6, using a whistle will bring you to the warp zone for worlds 4-6. Using the warp whistle WHILE IN the first warp zone will bring you to the warp zone with 7-8. In the last two cases, you need both whistles.

Entertainment / Re: Phantasy Star Universe *Potential Spoilers*
« on: January 23, 2011, 02:34:45 am »
I've played part of Phantasy Star IV, which I consider to be a thoroughly terrible game. With all the "engrish", shortened spell names, and awkward cutscenes, it's enough to make me exit the game in disgust. Which is, yeah, exactly why I didn't play through it all the way. If Phantasy Star Universe is anything similar, I'd rather stay away from it altogether.
Phantasy Star IV is very old. The newer Phantasy Star games are all based on the gameplay of Phantasy Star Online, which was an influential action-RPG for the Dreamcast and PC.

as ridiculous as it may seem, I dont really play my portables on the go. I'll take them to a friends or whatever, or maybe for a car journey, but I dont take them out and about to play. So while I'd prefer a longer battery life, I'm not sweating it too much.
I feel awkward playing with portables in front of people. It makes me feel disconnected. So I wouldn't mind a short battery life for the same reason.

Strange choices though, there's pretty much nothing there people were actually excited for .
Professor !@#$% Layton. I hope that makes the US launch too.

Entertainment / PS3 and PSP Security Compromised
« on: January 03, 2011, 05:40:37 am »
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuIlbmn-4A4" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuIlbmn-4A4</a>

You've probably seen this, but the PS3's security system (against running unsigned code) has been rendered useless because due to a massive oversight, anyone can now sign their own code and run it on the PS3 because the keys to sign the code have been leaked.. However, yesterday (or earlier today, since I haven't gone to bed yet) similar keys for the PSP were found in the PS3 firmware. So basically, the PS3 and PSP are cracked wide open. This is unfixable by a firmware update because any firmware update can now be decrypted to acquire any new keys.
I'm pretty glad about this. It'll be awesome to be able to run anything I want without dealing with incompatibility issues or extra hoops to jump through (like running the Patapon 2 demo exploit every time I turn on my PSP) Piracy will be a big issue, but the PSP is about to be replaced anyway and PS3 games, though piratable, aren't as easy to pirate as PSP games because of their size.

If the OoT prototype is ever leaked, it will make my entire life. It looked so interesting in the beta art.

I also exploited the first game. During the Maze fight, there were fixed monster spawn points. I'd grind on one of them until I had enough EXP balls to master all the skills. Even though it aged my character, I was ready to take on anything.

Fable 4 = VR helmet and walking around IRL kicking chickens.

They're shooting for a non-game setup, which is ruining the game.
The game is ruining the non-game.

On the GBC SMB DX was a re-release of SMB1
At the time, it was pretty kick-ass. It's portable Super Mario Bros with saving, and extra levels. Since the original is and was my favorite Mario game, it was the most played game in my Game Boy Color.

Just played the second dungeon boss of Oracle of Ages. It's a four-faced thing that I had to throw bombs in while the red face was facing the screen. This was very hard. If I threw a bomb in during another face, I was punished by a unique attack by the boss. More time consuming than hard, though.
