Just gonna stand back here because I thought the game was the best Mario RPG since SNES... *whistles

Quite a few Bosses for me :\ Biggest one I can remember though is Miguel in Chrono Cross. Because of how the game progresses, my first time through was confusing, Miguel was definitely a difficulty spike back then with his combo "elements" (spells) he uses, then Holy Dragon Sword Tech that wipes out anything it touches... especially if a character is Black Innate...

Then after that, the Dragons... sheesh... Chrono Cross bosses...

I was gonna say kefka from ff6 but instead I bring up the Last boss in the first sin & punishment lol, try defending earth and fighting a mega boss at the same time lol.  XD I never beat it too.
Pseudo Earth wasn't too bad, try Sin and Punishment 2, there are some TOUGH bosses there... *shudders at the thought of Deko*

Cookie cutter FPS is cookie-cut. CoD is just like Halo in my eyes. You're getting the same gameplay using the same weapons with a few new gimmicky "perks"... And before you CoD fans say "But I'm gonna get hours and hours of fun out of multiplayer!" Unless it's a multiplayer exclusive game, I don't base my judgement on the multiplayer. It's a tacked-on feature to make the player think they're getting their money's worth in "replayability" That would be like me buying a SRPG because I like the fact that you can name your characters... War simulators haven't been fun since... people started making them. They force feed you some bullshitty "What if!" storyline, then match you up with quirky sidekick after quirky sidekick, only to have them keeled off one after the other like you're playing some kind of future-psychiatrist-patient simulator. And what's worse in CoD is the fact that you HAVE to replay the damn levels over and over to get anywhere in multiplayer which is why 90% of the people who bought it, bought it to begin with!

In short, CoD is a cash cow, and will always be a cash cow, just like Halo is. You're gonna keep seeing the same game over and over rebranded with stupid new features that alter gameplay nigh but how quickly you reload your gun. People eat crap like that up though, so yeah.
QTF although many franchises fit that description besides Halo and CoD... but of course, money talks... but oh well...

As for CoD Black Ops... Let's see my track record for the series...
3? Didn't play. 4? Played Multiplayer a bit, that's it. 5? Nope. ModernWarfare 2? Nope... you see the recurring pattern that will follow...

plus I'm not a huge FPS guy either...

Discussion / Re: [Discussion Time] Could Zelda ever have RPG traits?
« on: October 21, 2010, 10:34:31 pm »
Zelda does kind of have some RPG elements already.  You upgrade your stats (number of hearts, capacity of magic meter, item capacities), your weapons and items, and Zelda 2 actually had a level up system.

I don't want to talk about Zelda 2...I hated it...
Zelda II is a beautiful game.  I don't understand the hate for it :/
My only gripe would be that I wish it had a weapon and armor system as well. :D
But that is also a good rpg system to base a Zelda game on.
QFT although I've never beaten it...
Zelda II shows that Zelda really could work as an RPG, and as stated, Zelda already has those "RPG Elements" such as status increasing through Heart Containers and other methods. While not exactly RPG-like in exp or other statistics, there is growth as the game progresses in these stats and the player's own skill in using the items/skills given.

I did enjoy the bike mode; reminded me of BS Excite Bike

Rosalina + Wario Bike = INSTANTWIN

The main problem I have with MKwii is actually the powerups... they really are overpowered (and luck based) and ESPECIALLY in later modes. It really is a game of luck.

Other than that, I loved it, I was completely surprised (I wasn't expecting much from it when I first played it...)

Discussion / Re: What is your "dream" project?
« on: April 15, 2010, 10:50:47 pm »
Eh, dream projects... I've had a couple over the years, but not too many...

I guess the biggest one for me would actually be just a JRPG idea I've actually been (sortof) working on for years (not going to release it, I think...)... or the best platformer ever about a certain Yellow Rabbit Character of mine :D :D :D

Hmm... let me find one :D

It's REALLY hard for me to find a better Super Nintendo theme than this...

My question is: What will the companion game be? Pokemon Gray? Or if they do Light and Dark (which was already done with Demikids on GBA) would it be Twilight? (oh dear lord WILD EDWARD APPEARS!)
WILD JACOB APPEARS!!!!
WILD JACOB USES SEXY HOWL!!!!
It's SUPER EFFECTIVE against all FEMALE pokemon and Mr. Mime!!!!!

WILD EDWARD USES SPARKLE... nevermind...

Well, new pokemon versions, another 100+ to catch... what's that up to now... almost 600????

Well, if it's like the rest of them they'll be good... right? (yeah, they will)

Thought you'd like that. I'm moving soon, and there's a GameStop right by where I'm moving to. So I'll be getting this within the next couple of weeks!

Now to fix my DS...

Haven't got the game yet, BUT HAVE BEEN WANTING TOO AS WELL :D :D
(I somewhat want it for two reasons...)
1. Pokewalker, the Idea just sounds awesome to me :D
2. IT'S THE G/S GAMES! My favorite Pokemon world of all the games

I'll probably get it when I get back home

Well, one thing to remember with CS--- it has a very important moral message-

"If you take the jetpack, unrelated stuff shall disappear from the world, and you're an evil son of a !@#$% who doesn't deserve a real ending" D:

true true,

taking the jetpack is forcing me to play through the game a second time, but I have no problem with that now...

Also trying to get the Spur this time, loved the machine gun my first playthrough though D:
(playing the PC version, no access to the wii version).

Workin on it :p Just have a lot to go before it's done. I've been working on a lot of rewrites, and I still have a lot to go. Collisions have never been 100% perfect, so I'm really trying to get it done. :P

Good man, good luck too :D

Hmm, could be nice with a lot of potential. But I won't get my hopes up. Have to try it first before making a judgement.

All I can say too, although the idea is interesting at least so far...
backwards compatible with DS/DSi Games, alright, alright

It's kindof sad actually, I hadn't really heard too much about Cave Story until this year, I got into Doujin games (Touhou Project, Chantelise, etc.) and I had heard a little bit about Cave Story, so I decided to give it a go, and I absolutely love it.

Wii version: haven't played it yet, if I do get the chance to play it, I definitely will! I'll have to wait though, looks great though
