Well eh ya know, in anime, defining age is fairly difficult. ^^ Especially when it comes to chibi-styled animes lol

Awesome drawing though. Likin' the anime expression. xP

Hm well then you did a good job because the moment I saw the pic, for a split second, I thought "Did Modrill do this?" xD Then I noticed the name and yeah.  :-X

Is that a bullet hole through the forehead?
Yaah. White chalk line and all. :P I wanted to add red to the palette and that's what a friend and I came up with.

My comment is tell your teachers to !@#$% off, and my criticism is the body could use a bit of definition. I love stylized art :3 Thank you for posting this!
I agree with you. I think I'mma touch that up tonight. And thanks. :]
Oh huh yeah, I thought it was of you dead on the ground with a shot to the head. I really like it. :D It kinda reminds me of Kill Bill because of the strong use of yellow and red. As DJ said, it'd be nice if the body had the same amount of detail as the head does. I don't know though, but my teacher mentioned a while back to me about how experts are able to somehow tell the artist's level of skill not just by the obvious stuff like composition, use of art theories, techniques, bla bla bla, but they can also really see it by the use of brush strokes. O.o;

Yeah the perspective with the first one was especially difficult for me since there are multiple different angles. I did in fact draw guidelines and I forgot to erase some of them.. xD But yeah, I definitely have issues with perspective lol.. There's a reason why I got a D in Tech Drawing xD (intro to architecture class)

Graphics / Architectural Art
« on: January 03, 2009, 10:44:03 pm »
So eh yeah, for my art class and college portfolio thing, I have to make atleast 3 architecture pieces drawn from realistic things (so from real examples of buildings), and so I used picture references from buildings that my friend took while she was in Chicago visiting colleges 'nd stuff. Each one of these took about 4-7 hours to complete.

One thing I will mention though, perspective is one of my weakest areas, so if you examine the pictures close enough, you will find small mistakes in the perspective and angles.

Oh and just ignore the little labels at the bottom right, that's just something I had to do.  ;)

^ "Apartments"

^ "Buildings in Chinatown"

^ "Old Church"

This is also something I finished quite a while back, but it's one of my favorite things i've drawn thus far in art class, and I think the title fits..

^ "Screwed"

I might post some of my other finished work at some point..  :P

All I have to say, Hayao Miyazaki is amazing! He's one of my art inspirations. :D I do have to admit though, I didn't feel as though Howl's Moving Castle was as good as some of his other famous films like Spirited Away or Totoro.. It was still good though nonetheless.

« on: December 23, 2008, 05:30:02 am »
This is really interesting and I was never really aware of how much math went behind music beyond what's obvious.. Strange though that it's called "golden". It's especially interesting though because in art, there's also something called the "golden section" in which there is a section in a piece of art that the eye tends to be drawn to or is appealing to and there's all this math and science behind the golden section as well. Really interesting stuff.

Yeah I also don't quite see the point in doing that unless it's just something you wanted to do for fun.. Looks good though. ^^

What I especially like about the top photos is that there's an ambiguity to them and you can't tell exactly what you're looking at. Or atleast, I can't.. xD And that cow thing looks very interesting.. lol

Pretty cool. For some odd reason though, the thick lines on the outline look a bit weird.. I woulda probably used a slightly darker color of the color of the face rather than just total black, but it's simple, you can clearly tell what the faces are, and it works. =D
