Very awesome idea going on here.  I took a look at the video and I'm extremely impressed :).  What development tool was used to make this?  Also, the only suggestion I have is to make the players move a bit faster; they're walking slower than molasses right now.
Speed varies based on health and perks. They move more than fast enough.

Development is a mix of BlitzMax and C.

That's why it's call pusedo-code :). atan is short for arctangent, I imagine arctan2 does the same thing. Best read up on some trig :3. I imagine point_direction is just wrapper for arctan2 as well.

Off hand, I believe you should be able to do something along these lines (Pusedo Code).

That was an idea I instigated, never got of the ground as no interest was shown in it :P.

Still got all the language wrappers on my computer though, if the back-end is the same, people could potentially still use it.
