Sephoral is a character for a game I am making. I need help with making walking animations. If anyone would like to try. He has eight directions so... I would like at least two frames of animation. Here is all eight directions standing still.



EDIT: New Sephoral. Doesnt look naked. Better Shading...All around better.

Sorry I can't help with animation, but I think it is easy for this character, I mean, he doesn't have his members connected.

Pintsize? I have seen much smaller sprites... Yes he has no limbs. Also I agree that the animations would be easy for anyone with much spriting ability. For me I am still working on my sprting ability. Also he is meant to be...cell shaded.

Also! THE HISTORY OF "SEPHORAL"
Long ago Moldormas Friend and Moldorma made a character called... C4l.
Then! They started a fighting game in flash called C4l Smash Brothers.
It sucked as well as the graphics. So it was cancelled. The series died for a long time.
Moldorma tried various attempts ro bring C4l back to life.
Sometime last year Moldorma wondered why he was called C4l...
Moldorma broke the name apart... C = Se. 4 = phor. l = al.......SE-PHOR-AL
Recently Moldorma hands the series to his young brother Moldrill.
Moldrill decides to majorly improve the character. Trust me you dont want to see the old "C4l".
Moldrill decides to make it not a fighting game/racing game/platformer...Now its an RPG!

BTW: Heres the old "C4l" Fight.
Zomg! Option punches. Arrow key move. Made by Moldorma.

EDIT: I forgot to thank you Kame. I dont know how well they will turn out but I know you are a good spriter. I put my faith in you.

Darned I was gonna make a character like this...
I don't think it suits for an rpg... maybe 4 directions?

He meant that I beat kane over there to making a character like that, and originally he was mainly a platforming character. Moley over here made him an RPG-er because he's an RPG nut. :P

Just from looking at this, I can tell right away that you're accustomed to flash. A character composed of small, gradient-shaded, geometric shapes that would probably each be a separate symbol. But as pixel art (and as art in general), it looks a lot better if you don't take the easy way out, and draw out characters with real shading and animation. Pixel art is about having control over each individual pixel to make an image exactly how you think it should be. It's different from every other art form in that you have absolute and complete control over exactly how it looks. That being said, I think that the sprites could be improved in a few ways, and made an edit to show some ideas:



First of all: the gradients. They have to go. They don't look good, and don't work with spherical objects. Also, they use an unnecessary amount of colors. My edit has only 7. I also increased the contrast, so that you can see each individual color. I completely redid the shading, defining a light source and the shape of each body part. I also added a bit of a reflection from the body in his head and limbs, to make it a bit more interesting, and give possible physical properties to his body. I gave a very slight red tint to the grays to make it a bit more interesting and unified, while keeping them distinctly gray. Finally, I gave it all a black outline, partly to cut down on the color count, and partly so that it will stand out a lot more from the backgrounds in the game.

I hope you can take some tips from this edit and improve your sprite.

well, I also knew that you've used flash in the past. I just saw that fact reflected in the sprite.

I really like the sprites (reminds me of the Madness charaters), but I can't help with the animations bud GOOD LUCK!
