Clan- There is 10 player ranks. 0 is unlisted, and you gain no guild XP whatsoever. Giving gold to the guild helps keep the guild alive, and a monthly (in game) fee is required for the guild, making it so you need to constantly have people giving guild or you having enough to spare. It could be 50 gold/member, so say you have 5 members... that's 250 gold deducted.
The higher the rank, the more guild XP you gain. You can add by doing /guildpromote (name, adds higher rank), or guilddemote (name, lowering the rank).
Depending on some servers you can CLANWAR. Clanwars are where you declare war on another guild. You can die anywhere at any time if they opposing guild members are around you (unless you go to town, and town can be a "safe zone")
Guilds have xp gained from members, but only 1/18th of it, making it harder to level. XP is given out every week (in game), and if you log off and come back on the next day your XP will be recieved.
If your ammount in the guildbank reaches less than zero, you can no longer gain XP, and the debt keeps adding up till you pay it off.
Guildland is also possible, but I doubt that will be in the LoZ game.
Guilds also stick together, back each other up, and do missions/quests together.
Hope that helps, AoDC. That's my definition of a Clan.
OH, and to make the guildchat stand out from normal text... make it pink or something.
