I still think it might be a good idea to wait a spell before proclaiming it your favourite movie of all time.

And it's the first movie I've seen in years that wasn't completely predictable with a !@#$% "hollywood ending" and all that.

What are you talking about? It's totally obvious when they have the dog go into a dark hallway alone that they're going to kill it off very soon. Not necessarily in the hallway, and it didn't die in the hallway, but you knew the dog was going to die.

Then the ending is obvious and superficial. He's bleeding from his leg and he gets taken home before patching it up. If you happened to know the zombies were supposed to be vampires (Which I didn't) then it'd be EXTREMELY obvious that they were planning on having the things follow him home and kill him and everyone there. However, they put a happy ending hollywood twist on it by giving the random Latino girl the antidote for the virus which can be replicated at the survivor village. And they all lived happily ever after, except for Will Smith, who became a legend amongst men. That kind of glory makes it a happy ending.

I'm pretty sure there's no way you couldn't call that not a !@#$% Hollywood ending.

Saw it with a few of my old friends the other day....

The girls(with us of course), kept jumping outta their seats.
Me and my bud were just sitting there, chillin' pretty much.
The beginning seemed good.  Then it felt dragged out.  Nothing about it scared me...
The zombie-esc creatures were a joke...  If you are going to go CG, then for god's sakes, do it the right way.  Both the dogs and humanoids stuck out like a sore thumb.  Gollum looked better four years ago...

The ending sucked...just sucked...

Will Smith..., continues to be a favorite actor of mine.  He did well for his character.
He played the part of a slightly deranged, secluded soldier very well.

All in all,---I wanted to watch AVPR from the get go...
Stupid !@#$% women...wanted to see I am Legend instead....*sigh*

For all those that enjoyed the movie, I'm glad.  You've given me reason to watch it eventually.

Also...
I'm pretty sure there's no way you couldn't call that not a !@#$% Hollywood ending.
...nice use of double-negatives there.  Anyway, had I not previously read the book, (or rather, had I not previously held it in high regard for inspiring a good deal of modern horror cinema, [both directly and indirectly], as well as many prolific modern horror novelists), I might've been able to enjoy to movie on the same terms as your average audience member.  Nonetheless, I'll watch it once it comes out on DVD.

I'm still yet to see it. I'm waiting for it to come to DVD because my friend saw it and said it was alright but not that great and not worth seeing it in theaters now. But is a good movie?
