Okay, I've got a Fujitsu Amilo, and a red light is shining out of my headphone port. What the !@#$% does that mean?

Its not a laptop at all! ITS A CYLON! Very few people will get that joke...

Anyway, I dont see why it could mean anything bad, ive had a few weird problems with my dell laptop, like sometimes the dell logo is blue, sometimes is green O_o

So what! I wanna get out! 'Cos there's so much out there! So many different people, living different lives! Incredibly good guys, bad guys... Folks completely different from us! It's one huge melting pot! See, it's not about success, dying in the streets, who's better, who's not! I just want to be a part of it! I realized that even if I've no connections, no talent, even if I'm one big loser, I want to use my hands and feet to think and move, to shape my own life! We can just die here or we can try, see what we've got!

Nice Battlestar Galactica reference...

I've actually had a dell laptop battery explode.  It didn't hurt anyone or anything, but I got a replacement laptop plus a different type of battery.  And the laptop was considerably faster than the previous one.  I guess they didn't want to get sued....

Anyway, long story short, if your laptop is under warranty and you are worried about ANYTHING, call customer support, take it to a service location, or any other course of warranty-reccommended action.  You don't want it's batery to explode or anything.

If I threw my guitar out the window, so far down, would I start to regret it?  Or would I smile and watch it slowly fall?

It's probably an optical port. They're sometimes combined with the normal headphone jack and function as whichever one you plug in. Maybe the sensor or something is broken and it thinks you've got an optical cable plugged in, but it shouldn't matter if you're not using it, and normal audio works.

Yeah, I found out it is. Anyway to get it to swtich off? 1. It's annoying, 2. it's no doubt sapping power, 3. it's bloody annoying.

EDIT: Don't worry about it, disabled it by muting the volume of the interface in the control panel settings for it. Thanks and bye.
