I felt horribly depressed after watching Welcome to the NHK.  The ending was far from happy, and the theme of the story seemed to be "your life and everyone else's life sucks, so get over it."

On the other hand, I felt a surge of hot-blooded determination after watching Gurren Lagann.

Really, they ruined the Trigun anime by making it before the books were completed.  At the end where the story is completely different, the only good part was the episode where Wolfwood dies, and only for the scene in the cathedral(love that scene).  In the books there are lots of places where I kinda feel sad, or get mad at people for doing something they obviously should've done(Wolfwood didn't frikkin' kill Legato when he saves Vash).  But for all the goodness of this awesome series, it has a pretty mediocre ending, and if you haven't read it I'm about to spoil it for you, Vash practically dies in the battle with Knives, and then Knives saves him.  Blegh.  But the part in the books where Wolfwood dies is amazing, and that part is probably more emotional than anything to do with Vash and Rem.  Oh, did anyone notice that they spelled Rem's last name wrong in the english version of the anime?

A few books perhaps, never an anime and never a game, I just find it to hard to immerse myself enough in them to actually become attached to a bunch of pixels :S.

I think I cried at the end of the High Druid of Shannara trilogy. And The Wishsong of Shannara.

Sometimes words create the worst and saddest imagery of all. I think Infini's comment says a lot about him :p.

As for me, nah, I've never cried over any form of entertainment whatsoever. Well, I cried when I was young when my games were taken away from me for running away from home, but that's about it :P. I certainly have been experienced powerful emotion of despair, anger and happiness with many movies, books, and a few games. The few Metal Gear games I have played have taken my emotions to places I'd never expect a game would, namely MGS2. The moral in MGS2 (to not allow your past and your ancestors determine your future) is actually something I've sort of taken on. The Deathly Hallows was an emotional rollercoaster for me, and I can't even begin to go into detail of the films I've seen. The Butterfly Effect? I Am Legend? The Lion King (omfg when Simba's dad died >.<)? They all work their magic for me.

But make me cry? Nup :P.

Macho macho man, etc.
