Fact of the matter is that (and yes, I'm going to say it blatently since no one has picked up on my obvious hints that I made previously-- although admittedly most weren't in this thread), I actually had a problem with this substance at one point in my life. Wonder why I'm so opposed to it?
As 4Sword may recall, I said that I didn't value the opinion of a porn-addict, any more than I did a drug-addict. That's because they'll say anything to make it seem moral, or to defend it, be opposed to legislation against it, etc. Thus, it is called an ADDICTION.
Anywho, that doesn't mean I don't value the opinion of those who once were addicted to it.
I know what I'm talking about, I know it's disgusting, you people still refuse to face the facts behind it, and you merely accuse me of being a blind bigot. I'm sick of it, so let's act a bit more mature, shall we? It's unfortunate that I've had a struggle with it. Still do (wonder why I refuse to tamper with my filter? because if I begin to figure out how to bypass it, even if it's for harmless screenshots of some fan game, the temptation's back) to an extent.
But even so, the argument of "you don't know what it's like, so your opinion's nullified", doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Do I know what it's like to be murdered? Do I know what it's like to commit murder? No, but because it factually causes harm, I can have an opinion that it should be illegal.
Same with porn.
