Console or Hand-held. What do you prefer for Nintendo's next gaming system?

Definitely a Hand-held. For my dislike of the wii, I have bad feelings if Nintendo is going to make another Console like that. I like the DS, it was way better than the wii in my opinion.

I think a hand-held, because the DS has been out long enough now.

I can't really prefer for the next batch o' consoles/handhelds...cuz they aren't out...but if you are talking about right now, then the Wii.

The console, obviously.  But if it's like an updated version of the Wii(as SNES was to NES or GC was to N64), then I'd want a charger to come with it, like I'd read it would, so I don't have to keep buying batteries that die in a few days.

Other than that though I like the Wii just fine.  Maybe they could let us actually copy & paste while using teh interwebz, or even let us take pictures somehow and put them in the photo channel(if it'll still exist) and vice versa.  The controls outweigh most of what's bad, though, imo.

Besides, I don't think Nintendo could make a *full* Zelda game for handhelds.  LA, the Oracles, and TMC were pretty fun and had good stories, and PH might be good too if I get a new DS to play it with, but a game like TWW or TP just couldn't be remade on those.

Well, I assume that we'll atleast SEE a new handheld by 2008.  The Wii has only just begun, so I doubt we'll be seeing a new console until atleast 2010.

As to which one I would PREFER to come out first, I'd say a new handheld.

Console. Maybe a Wii 2 with like... Ps3 graphics? I know that will never happen though. How could they ever top the Wii though?

Heh knowing Nintendo they've prolly had top secret plans since the Wii was first announced so I don't think I need to worry. :P

I would personally LOVE  a new handheld,wii is fairlee new with dare I say very few games,they need more,but they need a new handheld,ds lite and ds,there just old

I don't know what I'd prefer. I actually like hand-helds and consoles both. So it's a win-win situation for me when Nintendo announces a new gaming system!

Ha bloody hahaha! You know what I mean- I think I prefer a hand-held.

I think it should incorporate all the features of the DS, take out Picto Chat, and have video/mp3 capabilities. How good would it be to use the touch screen to change tracks and such? The PSP's L/R setting annoys me- but that would really work, imo.

As for the Wii, we know its successor will be much more powerful- as they said they didn't want to make uber HD gaming this generation, as not enough people would be able to experience it, (waste of their money) and given the amount of people that have bought the Wii, only the minority of them will have a HDTV. And they were expanding the market and all, too, so I suppose that's where their spending was. And now they have a massive fanbase, they can devote more money to making a more powerful console.

Nintendo says they're expanding the industry, but Nintendo actually is growing its fanbase- because let's face it, they were pretty much ignored through the Gamecube's lifespan, and did terribly. More fans= more people buying= PROFIT=win. So it's pretty much a dead-cert the next Wii's gonna be uber-powerful.

Most of you probably already knew that, but I just think it's a really clever business move, and it justifies people moaning about how the PS3 and 360 are so much more powerful.

I would say make a handheld system like the PSP. Like with Gamecube game graphics or better. I just think it would be better than another console.

A new hand-Held would be great!Featuring new games,a whole who style of gaming?Just like what the DS did with it's "touch ability" a new Hand-Held would be fantastic,new graphics,a new Generation!

Whoa now!  If Nintendo were to make a PSP-esque handheld, (i.e. "Gamecube Boy", lol), there's no doubt in my mind that it would still have a touchscreen.  A good question to ask is: "Has the DS sold well because it has two screens, or because one of them is touch sensitive?".  I'd personally say that it's the latter.

I say bring on the DS-Game Boy-Gamecube hybrid!
