ZFGC community SMW Romhack

So first of all, Mods I had no idea where to put this. So if it's in the wrong spot, please move it.
I'm pretty sure this isn't against the rules because there is a romhack in the completed projects.

So this Idea was inspired by .Takam's post about ZFGC not finishing project so I though, why not make a project that is extremely easy to finish.

So I propose that we make a Super Mario World Romhack!
This was done with the Vip Mario series of rom hacks with a large forum in Japan. The Vip Hacks ended up being very creative and fun games.

So basically what would happen is that people who are interested would get Lunar Magic(I'll mention more about this later) and create a few levels for the heck. We would then have a person in charge of making the over world and putting everything together.

The great thing about a project like this is it doesn't require very much commitment from the makers. People could spend only a few hours(or less) and be done with their part.

A program called Lunar Magic is used to heck the roms. It can be downloaded here
Lunar Magic makes it really easy to edit the levels.

So I'm wondering whether there would be any interest for this project?

If the level editor is reasonably easy to handle then I'd be totally up for it :P Level design has always been the one aspect of game development I'm truly interested in.

oh sorry didnt quite see that you had it on there.. sorry again :P
i havent tried it yet but apparently it should be able to take care of everything level oriented..
and its supposed to only be run well with a certain ROM, so it would be nice if there was a link to a rom it works well on too

Sorry, linking the rom would be illegal and against the rules.
But I will tell you I only tried two different roms and one of them worked with Lunar Magic, so its not too hard to find.
Edit: Knivu, the editor is really easy to use. The majority of it is drag and drop.

I've played around with Lunar Magic before. I edited the first level to the left at the beginning of SMW. It was pretty cool. I'd love to help but I got other things to do. If this project goes on in mid-january, I'll help, maybe.

I'm not sure when the cut off will be for submitting levels, but people can start making the levels whenever.

Hmm, how will people submit? Can LM export and import maps anywhere? What about in a certain location?

In Lunar magic you can export and import individual levels, the level files are what you should submit

It's a shame...it doesn't work with ANY of the ROMs I have from the complete SNES collection at Underground Gamer, a quite reputable members only torrent site. =/

I'll help. I wanted to remake my own version, but to be honest, I'm quite lazy. So I'll contribute some levels. And you'll know they're mine. When you finish a level, you almost die! It's fun.
