You have to heck it and put either Rockbox or Ipod Linux on it (I have both on mine, but never use the Linux part of it). Rockbox comes with a built in Doom and GameBoy emulator, but iPod Linux is Linux and has all the advantages of being Linux.

Google iPod Linux or Rockbox to get started :P

Just go with Rockbox, it's simplest.  I have it on my iPod video.

Does it change all the interface and stuff? (like the way you select music or movies and stuff?)

Bit of a pointless question its just I like that :(...

Depends. I have a bootloader (I found it on the ipod linux forums) on my ipod that allows me to chose between rockbox, ipod linux and the standard apple OS. Without a bootloader, I'm not sure but I think Rockbox overrides the standard OS.

You still can use Rockbox to play music, but you just have to update the playlist every time you add some music, which can take awhile.

Where can I find this bootloader. And how much space will all this take up?

I'm debating getting the 4gig Nano or the 8gig. (possibly 4).

Actually, by default after installing Rockbox, it starts up into Rockbox mode, unless, you slide the hold slider onto hold when the Apple logo is showing, then it will boot into the normal iPod OS.  I pretty much always use the normal OS, I just use Rockbox sometimes when I want to try homebrew and such.

Looks like you'll have to mess around with Linux.

Good luck's all I can say, but for some reason Linux hates me. It's always refused to work for me, and it seems to be keeping this trend even on iPods.

You can't play Half Life on an iPod.  The video you saw was Doom on an iPod, running a Half Life mod-- which uses graphics/levels from Half Life.  Not actually Half-Life however :P

But anyway, thanks for this topic, because I wouldn't have known about Rockbox otherwise :P

Rockbox is much more better than iPod linux, in my opinion. I tried iPod Linux and didn't really like it. It also randomly wouldn't start up for me. It all depends on how you think of it, though. Other user opinions aren't really valid in this case :S.
