meh, all around kinda sloppy, the sweep picking at the end was really sloppy, it was kinda just a bunch of fast !@#$%.

I mean, definitely a lot better than some people that have played for seven months, but yeah.

the tapping was, ok -> sloppy -> ok.

but yeah, keep it up and you'll get it.

so my friend stole a giant bag of ketchup out of the ketchup pumping things and brought it to our table and we took it in the bathroom and i smashed it over the sink and kicked it around the bathroom and smeared it everywhere and we all took turns kicking the ketchup out of it and when we were done it looked like an african village was murdered in the bathroom

It just kinda sounded ugh, mostly due to lack of experience coupled with the speed of the song. Try playing some slower, easier stuff and play them nice and clean. I for one appreciate clean guitarwork over speed.

About sums up what I was trying to convey.

Seriously the best way to learn stuff is to slow it down and get it clean and then slowly move up the tempo while keeping it clean.
That was just way too messy.

I don't know if it was just what you were using to record but your tone needs A LOT of work.

If you look at my Dragonforce intro guitar video you'll that there's a different in the tone. That's because I used a port to my PC, but it's anoying to use (and to sync it). So I haven't used it on this video.

I have to agree with everyone else... You're playing everything way to fast than you should be. Slow down and perfect things, especially that sweeping. I hate to be so critical but it was really bad. Trust me, I've been playing for 8 years. I made the mistake of prioritizing speed over clarity and I deeply regret it :[

Buy a good tuner, and use it.  Nothing will make you sound worse than being out of tune.  I recommend the Korg CA-30.

My friend has it too, but it's 20 bucks... I already have the cheapest Ibanez tuner (I haven't used it before the vid, what I should do next time). And I'm currently sparing money for the Ibanez ART120 and BOSS Metal zone :P

This is a friend of me, he plays 4 years.
What are your opinions about him?

I don't think he's that good.
But it's hard to tell because his tone is very bad for death metal, not distinguishable at all.

He WAS giving you advice, stop being so sensitive.

But yeah, I agree with everyone else. You're good for having only played 7 months, and you need to work on clarity.

Edit: Removed what could be considered "flaming".

Nah, his guitar is tuned even worse than mine. He tried to do a lower tuning but he actually doesn't know how to, so he just did EVERY string lower (so it gets easily de-tuned).

It wasn't the tuning that made him sound bad, it was definitely the quality and/or tone.

I don't think Herman Li is a very good person to draw inspiration from because his views seem to be speed first accuracy later, which is not a good mentality to have at all.

Sound Enhancement Pedar.

Dat's r8 nice.

But seriously, I'm sure that sounded way better in person.
But the horrid sound quality of the final product we see on youtube sucked ballz. Recording an amp with distortion and playing like that always sounds shitty.

You need one of those pedals with USB support... And so do I. :D
