I used to only make RPGs with Gm6.1 but the book inspired me to expand my talents! It inspired to make the following genres of games
-Platformer
-God Game (Mythical Safari
)
When I have done one of each, I will be moving onto arcade games. Anyway, I love the book. Shame about there's nothing about making RPGs. So I have been thinking and thinking. And I came with one question. Should I write a book about making RPGs on gm6.1? It won't be one to buy as I don't do that thing (Unless Mark Overmars actually gave me permission to do so) It would be an online copy. I know alot of you wold ask.
-You? What RPGs have you made then eh?
-What makes you think your up to the job?
Well, the following reasons are why
-I have 4 RPGs to my name (The Great Tale Series. One is coming out tomorrow)
-I have learnt almost everything from Gm6.1. 3D and the stuff I don't actually need are left.
-I have spent 3 years programming.
-I have extra time at college so I can spend time there.
Anyway, here's what I would go through
-Use of GML in RPGs
-Stats
-Moving a character and attacking with a character (Both button and mouse. Mainly button for now)
-Menus that show stuff
-Inventory Version 1 (Everything's in a certain place)
-Inventory Version 2 (Anything can go anywhere)
-Enemies (4 types. Wanderer, Crawler, Chases according to grid and chases you)
-More to come
Anyway, if I did write an online book for making RPGs with Gm6.1 (Will ask someone to convert the codes in the book to Gm7), would you read it?
