Two times when I was younger, I messed up my toenail bad; the first time was when I opened a door and it ripped the nail off and back and the second time was when I jumped over a plastic chair clipping my toe and the nail split down the middle pretty far. I also once had this condition in my feet where the tendons of the arch would tear. Then again, I also had an ingrown toenail for a year because it was misdiagnosed as foot fungus; to remove it though they had to numb the toe by sticking needles into it with anesthetic.
Congratulations though, for whatever pain it gives you, you will become stronger.
