Keep watching the series. The first episode mirrors a lot of events that happen later on, and if you don't like the dream sequence beginning, there's an alternative first episode that shows what happens while Jil is unconcious. The second season isn't nearly as good as the first though, and it's just downright crap towards the end, but the final episode makes up for it.
