I dunno, I started playing Metroid Fusion and beat it. Then, I am EAGER to make a metroid ZC game.
I got the story already... its like:

Samous found a wierd liquid thing floating out in space. She collected it and let the scientist at HQ to examine it. It seems its like a virus. Samous left to find more of these... "things" but got a request from HQ to head back. Samous returned but the HQ was deserted. There was an emergancy and the HQ ship crashed into an unknown place full of the viruses. Samous got infected by one, but It's really nothing much. Samous did lose all her power like morph ball and wave beam from that virus, but no pain felt. She continued to explore this planet looking for survivers from the crash. But havn't found anybody... YET.

well... I dunno.

that sounds exactly like fusion without the 'looking for survivers part'

Yeah...that's very similar to the story of Metroid Fusion. I advise a more original story.

More originality needed indeed.

Maybe story about what happened to Samus after she left B.S.L. and the origins about why the G.F.
is being so suspicious?

Metroid games in my opinion seem really hard to make because of all the physics.

You COULD make the same story completely original! Something like:

After the B.S.L. incident, Samus was put on trial. However, Samus (had a top-notch lawyer/was able to fully explain what happened on the station). The Federation decided only to give Samus less important missions. They had her collect some virus like liquid they discovered which also had a few properties of Phazon. While Samus was collecting, however, she was ordered to head back to H.Q. When she got there, she discovered the place was deserted. Suddenly, the alarm started ringing. Samus raced back to her ship and left H.Q. just as it exploded. Unfortunately, a peice of debris struck the ship and damaged main engines AND thrusters, causing a hyper drive spark to send her crashing into an unkown planet full of the liquidy-phazon-virus-stuff. She was okay, but got infected and lost most of her abilities...

Edit: Gah! Repetition in the third sentence! Fix'd.

Edit 2: Liquid spelt wrong. >.>
