Hopefully, I won't get in trouble for this. Anyways, I'm working on hecking the original Final Fantasy. Is there any way to expand it so enemy names and stuff can be longer, or more colors in the palettes, or anything? For my envisioned plan, I need to know if this can be done. So, can it?

I imagine you could expand the names (assuming you are pretty good at rom hecking and understand pointers), but you probably couldn't add more colours, as it is a system limitation.

Okay, thanks Windy. I figured out the names thing. The program I'm using (FFHackster) displays KAB, and the number next to it is how many free characters I can use in that text category. Once I figured that out, it was easy. Now KARY is Marilith!

Forgive the doublepost, but otherwise I'm sure no one would notice a new post in this topic.

Is there any reliable program I could d/l to edit sprites in games like SMB3 or something? (DJ needs to be the new Hammer Bros.!)
