I know! Too busy w/ my project to do it myself, but if I wasn't, I would tottalllly see if I could manage it. (Do a Moblin next!! That or the Oracles.)

I'm gonna guess he's gonna do a Zora next. Seriously this is awesome. If you don't make a fangame of this I'm going to be disappointed. There could be boomerangs instead of koopa shells :P

These are awesome!!

Well if there is a fan game items could be as follows:

Items List Mario - Zelda
  • 1. Lighting - Triforce Piece
  • 2. Star - Fairy
  • 3. Ghost - Po
  • 4. Banana - Bomb
  • 5. Mushroom - Pegasus Boots/Wheels
  • 6. Feather - Roc's Feather
  • 7. Red Shell - Arrows
  • 8. Green Shell - Boomerang
  • 9. Coins - Rupees

Maybe some additional items could be added as well.  I am basing these on the Super Mario Kart that the sprites are from, by the way.

^I'd make some changes to that.

Lightning = Bombos or Ether Medallion
Mushroom = Pegasus Seed
Red Shell = Boomerang
Green Shell = Bombchu
Star = Guardian Acorn + Piece of Power*

*aka. "Acorn Power" (It would be an icon that looks like an acorn inside a triangle)

I'm inclined to agree :p

I also think that some of the more obscure items from MKWii could be added as well; for example-

POW could be Megaton Hammer
Bullet Bill could be (as lame as it is), a cannon ball

Personally I think the banana peels shouldn't be bombs because a bomb doesn't imply spinning out, but rather esplodin'. I think "Chu Jelly" would work for that D:

Bombchus don't home, broski, they travel in a straight path.  The boomerang (Wind Waker) is homing though.

Plus the Bombchus would blow up when they hit the target, so that's more power for less accuracy, which is a nice upgrade for the Green Shells since they were completely inferior to Red Shells.

However, the boomerang doesn't home in any of the 2D games, and bombchus in PH allow you to draw the path of them on the map :p I don't think there's really any items in zelda that full on home for enemies, it'd make the games easier than they already are.

And the bomb for banana doesn't make a lot of sense either, since there's a throwable bob-omb in the wii mario kart.

Green Shells - Arrows
Red Shells - Boomerang
Blue Shells - Bombchu or Magic Boomerang
Placable Bomb - Bomb
Mushroom - Pegasus Boots
Starvincability - Either gold Kinstone or Force Gems
Ghost - Probably just a Bottle, swipe and steal.
Lightning - Ether Medallion
Bananas - No idea, could be a dumped Bottle of water or Chu Jelly, the sprite being where the Chu goes into the ground most of the way.

Also, Bullet Bills should be flying bombchus imo.

These are all from the 64 one, havn't played the MKWii. Just some Ideas.

I agree with Shefali about that bombchus aren't really homing projectiles, just like the Bomblings of TP. But due to a lack ofg anything better, I do think that bombchus would make the best equivalent of the red shells. I don't think the boomerang is a real equivalent of a shell, not to mention that the shells do not return to the owner.

It'd be a lot less work than the old Community Project. Seeing as there'd be no story, sidequests, characters...
