[Submission] Vine swinging

Location: Deku Swamp
Cost: 10 rupees
Objective: jump from vine to vine until you fall. As far as you get, the prize will be
Rewards:
- 5 miles, piece of heart
- 4 miles, kokiri essence (if Smithy not accepted, bigger quiver)
- 3 miles, 50 rupees
- +5 miles, 100 rupees (only available after getting the piece of heart)

Description: a challenge of jumping from vine to vine. Keeses will fly around to take Link down, as other enemies will also do it. Hanging on a vine for more than 3 seconds will make it fall.

Dangers:
- Keeses and flying enemies
- Falling down from a vine
- Fake vines
- Snakes

How to avoid dangers:
- To avoid the flying enemies, the player must jump from the vine before it hits him
- To avoid falling down from a vine, the player must quickly jump from the vine
- To avoid grabing fake vines, the player must recognize it by its color (lighter green are normal vines, darker green are fake ones)
- To avoiu snakes bite you, the player must quickly jump from vine to vine. If bitten, the player must jump through 3 vines to make the snake fall

I think there should be a few snakes hanging down and if you grab them they bite you, causing you to fall.

What is the Kokiri Essence?  My concern with this is the same that Niek had with wallmaster's arms.  How are we going to see the vines hanging from this game's perspective?

They are reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally long, so you just see the down part of the vine.

I think the idea is good. It was one of the best mini-games in ST. But I don't think it is suited for this graphical style.

I have to agree with MG. Where the wallmaster concern can still be solved with a fade or hard cutt-off of the arm, with the vines this is more problematic. This is due to the animation. The wallmaster goes straight up and down. But the vines are swinging. This means that there is somewhere along the vine a rotational point. This point where the vine is connected to something. This can give a really weird animation when Link makes the angular movement on the vine. Because do you show it, which makes it kinda short vines, or don't you show it, which makes Link swing around an unseen point. It gives me also concerns about whether this can be pulled of in the graphics departement and keep the believebility in tact.
