im not entirely sure if this goes in the graphic resources section, but i expect no one will rip my head off if it doesnt.

i was wondering if there was any kind of free character creation software similar to soulcalibur's character creator where i can work with 3d costume pieces and such to create concepts for characters in my stories. i have the free standalone city of heroes character creator, which is good for a lot of stuff, but not for medieval/renaissance garb like in soulcalibur. if i had any money i'd just buy SC4, but until then, does anyone know of anything i can use?

If you have WoW installed, you can always use the WoW Model Viewer, for as much help as it'll be.

nah, cause WoW doesnt really have all the creation options. that won't work at all...

i dont know crap about the sims. how in depth can you actually go in creating characters? and do you have to buy a bunch of crap before they can wear it? and do they have renaissance type clothing?

well, i looked into it and i dont think the sims will work either. thanks a lot though. keep your eyes open and let me know anyone spots anything, ok?

Does it reaaally have to be in 3d?

Otherwise, if it's just for concepts, I know a perfect 2D game you might even enjoy playing.

Those are renaissance type clothing, right? Just some poor people in there with rags :P.

What's so great about it is you can go inside tons of different shops and try on different outfits, for free. And of course, you get to create your own characters.

The game's absolutely free :).

yeah, that's close. though im not really looking for a game, just something where you build your character from the ground up, including costumes and everything where like you dont have to play through a game to shop for stuff. you know? like... i dunno how else to describe it. personally i think it's just really simple. most wrestling games have it, city of heroes has it, and soulcalibur has it. that kinda thing...

Well, it's not hard. When you first create your character you have have the option to go shopping, immediatly. You need no money, it's easy.
You click on the clothes you want on the rack and it shows what you look like with them, you can choose hats, torso, pants and boots.





Give it a try, really. It's worth it. Tons of stuff in lots of different colors.

ok, ill try it and see if it works

edit: no. i tried it... i started my character and im stuck on some ship with nowhere to go. and i cant figure out how to make another character.

seriously... is my request really all that complicated? i would assume something exsts somewhere but i just dont know if anyone even knows what im talking about. I'm not looking for a game. I'm looking for something to make loads of characters. seriously....

I don't think you'll find a free character creator and renaissance type clothing all in one. :/
