Updates / Re: z3 2010: Suspension and/or Death
« on: August 03, 2010, 05:09:26 pm »
With the overall turnout for this event being as low as it is, the staff has decided that the z3 event scheduled for later this month will not be held. It is not cancelled in the sense that it will definitely not happen any time this year, as it might happen later in the fall/winter - assuming it can fit around or subtly coexist with the outside NCFC event. Niek's Community Project feature contest will also not be held as its turnout too is low.

Seeing as how the turnout was really low, i doubt there will be a problem with Z3 subtly co-existing with NCFC, that's usually pretty big i think. Sucks that Z3 got pretty much cancelled, although i guess it's pointless to have it with only a few events.
When we refer to co-existing it's more about not having NCFC overshadowing z3, which might again result in a lower turnout because people are too busy preparing for NCFC.

Are you merely looking to scale the surface though or are you more after a pinching effect?

Don't like kill cam? Turn it off. Don't like domination or rivalry? Don't play them. TF2/L4D/L4D2 all use a 66 tick rate, never had any issues with them.  They didn't "get rid" of any game modes, they're mods that became incompatible, which is naturally going to happen when you update to a different engine version.

Making a petition is pointless.

Got inspired a little by the game that recently came out.  So I had a go at my own rendition of the 11th doctor's tardis.  Took me about 2 days to complete, it's been about 3 years since I've modelled anything.

Dead giveaway that it is made up is what I bolded.

*Nintendo has consistently denied any timeline, and has stated very clearly that each Zelda game is to be taken as it's own *new* game, and has no correlation with another game unless otherwise specified*

I don't see how that's a dead give away, replace Mastersword with Four Sword and Ocarina of Time with Four Swords and then you have the story of the Minish Cap.

when you're stuck in a wall and hspeed/vspeed is 0 it will cause an infinite loop.

at a guess if you run into an object at a speed greater than one then your check x -/+ 1 will catch it after you're already inside the object and set it to zero

Borderlands is good if you like Co-Op.  If you have HL2 for PC I would recommend checking out the Synergy Mod which allows for Co-Op HL2 campaign.

Eh, I had a go at it.

I'm not really satisfied with it, since I noticed some errors... :/
I'll probably have to fix it up sometime soon.
It's pretty much a step-by-step thingy down there in case you would like to add your own top.

Edit: Had another go at the top. Looks way better than the first one, I think.
I too prefer the second top.
Personally, I would probably straighten the lines in the middle as it's not being looked at on an angle and maybe do something with the end bits a little, from what I gather for carts like these the ends are to be on a slant and I'm not getting that feeling here.

I imagine that using a 1d array would be faster based on the fact that, at least in c, in order to allocate a 2d array it requires an extra loop.  Otherwise, AFAIK there is no difference.

I made this script a few days ago as a prototype.  It only works in browsers that can use the canvas element.  All work is done on the client side.  The script itself does support limiting the number of loops and can also set the delay between frames although it is not evident.

Don't worry guys, sometimes I get confused too, it's like when I look at Brock and I confuse his eyes as being a moustache and his eyebrows as his eyes.

Were there some exceptionally funny things stored there?
I deleted an old Java assignment I had uploaded to the site for school (very small) and also deleted all of the video files of the old Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament (very large apparently) after saving them to my computer. 5000 MB -> 2632.95 MB, unless another administrator deleted something else; I was kind of shocked that the deletion I did took out as much as it did in terms of disk space usage.

It looks like the delete method was running out of date code and didn't work correctly to begin with, I've since replaced it, so it should be working properly.
