Mariokart Bowser Cup
« on: December 06, 2006, 12:52:56 am »
I have wanted to make a top down Mariokart game for along time, so now I am. The name is Mariokart: Bowser Cup and I assure you, once this is done, it will be the best top down mariokart game you have ever seen. I will not be releasing demos simply because I am already past halfway done and it will ruin the suspence. I will, however post many screenshots. This topic is on many other forums so you may have seen it before.

Level designers: 1 positions left
Spriters: 1 positions left
Programer: 1 position left  (I will need to see some proof that you are good)

the other mario is baby mario.doi.  it looks ok, but i think there are to many right angles on the road.  there should be more curves.

This looks like an example I saw somewhere else... I hope you either made the example, or I am wrong.

I apologize, but according to the Misc WIP board rules, you need a demo or decent trailer in order to post.  I've moved it to the Misc. Early Production & Ideas subforum for now.  Feel free to contact a mod upon meeting the requirements to get it moved back into the WIP board.

That said though, it looks like a fantastic start.  The mixture of different graphical styles does look somewhat odd, but it's not too big of a deal.  Keep at it.

What do you mean I need a life?  =P  Hm... Lives... Isn't that something that you get in Super Mario Bros?  You know, those green mushrooms?  That's a life, right?

No problem. I am new to the forum and haven't read the rules yet.

Looks pretty good but you use some sprites who defenitly don't fit the style!

That's not what I mean you use like these item boxes and those tree's and they don't fit the style in anyway.

They seem perfectly fine to me. Not everything has to have perfectly-matching graphics styles.

I think you should continue using the graphics you currently have.

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.
