Ok well I want a good laptop, I reckon I can make like £400 from my PC, maybe more with monitor, speakers etc.

I need some advice as what to get, my budget is about £800 ($1,627 USD).

I'm looking to get something that is fast, large disk space, dvd burner is essential, dual core processor preferable.
I am considering getting a refurbished mac book, so don't just say "get a mac".

Some links to laptops would be great, and any help and advice welcome.

Thanks :)

get a mac

I'm assuming there is a PC World near you. My brother got his Mac Book from there for under £800, (But his was literally the one of the shelf, they just cleared it).

APPLE MAC LAPTOPS - APPLE MACBOOK INTEL CORE 2 DUO PROCESSOR 2GHz LAPTOP £749.97 inc VAT.

From personal experience this one works like a dream :P

'Course if you haven't taken out the option to buy online;

I cant seem to access this site at the moment, but try here;

Like I said, I'm already looking into mac books. And unless I find a nice deal on a PC Laptop I will go for a Mac Book Pro.

Mac Books nowadays come prebuilt with the ability to run Windows on. But I don't NEED anything other than Mac OS.. same if I were to buy a Windows Laptop, I wouldn't NEED any other OS's.. Dual boot is a waste of time/resources.

Forget about Mac. Look into HP's dv9000/2000/6000 series. Customize online and get it with an accidental damage warranty. I have a 9000t and 8000t (discontinued) and they are both lovely. Technical support isn't bad, you just have to call 2 or 3 times to get to someone who can actually help you. You shouldn't have much problems. I do hate Vista though (easy to uninstall).

It seems to me though, I can get an equally good(spec) Mac for the same price, which leads me to think why not just get a Mac. (I like mac btw, and have worked with it before, I also love PCs. I wouldn't be gaming so that's not an issue, and I can always boot into Windows if I 'need' to)

I just got a new laptop, but you can't have it. However, you can consider getting the same one, if you want. It costs around £400, but the specs aren't perfect.

Packard Bell. The specs say 80GB, but it's really only 60. Damn teh liars.

Whatever floats your boat :) They are almost exactly the same except HP doesn't do Mac OS.
