The Acolyte vs Hane
Thunder: July, 27th

The warriors emerge from their dangerous battles against foul demons and. Upon entering a dangerous thunderstorm, these two wanderers brace themselves for the worst, knowing that whatever lies under these clouds of fury is probably much worse than the crackling of lightning. Staring at each other across wild plains, each knows what they must do -- they must fight to the death.

The Acolyte comes from a religious family. His father, the late High Inquisitor of the Holy Church of Solaris, taught him to strictly worship Deus and follow the Evangelion. Now that his father has died, The Acolyte has become the new High Inquisitor, and under him, the Evangelion is law. He enforces the law with the sacred Staff of Judgment, a cross-shaped relic possessed only by the High Inquisitor. One fateful night, The Acolyte was visited by a mysterious man, possessing a giant tome of untold knowledge. Some say that the volume contains all the rules that govern the universe. The man (or apparition) told him that he was a chosen man. He was chosen to be the Ethos of the world, and to hunt down the Apostles with his "Dreamcatcher" (what the man called his holy Staff). The Acolyte debated over whether to listen to the man and begin the quest until, by some twist of fate, he met the Logos of the world at the other end of his staff...[Read more...]

Hane is a young orphan child living on the streets of a small village, outside a 1500's London. A quiet boy, the only friend he has is Krylia, a young girl of Hane's age who pities him for his state of living and lack of family and friends. Due to his current state, Hane often finds himself stealing to survive, but his overall intentions towards people remain positive, but most of the people around him are afraid of him, and often refrain from talking to him. He begins to question himself, wondering if there is something that makes him seem intimidating, and turns to the church for assistance. For his own reasons he embarks to discover, upon entering the church, Hane becomes stricken with panic and anger. Hane burns down his village and kills most of the inhabitants, include Krylia's parents. He awakens in an underground dungeon, with Krylia sitting in the corner crying and staring at Hane's scarred body, having no idea what has just happened to him... but that's just the tip of the iceberg.[Read more...]

Acolyte's image is better, but Hane's story is far better, so...

Damnit, how am I supposed to decide?!  These are probably my two favorite characters in the competition......damnit.

Let's see... Both stories are really good, the Acolyte has better artwork, but Hane's story is given in more depth.  That seems to make them even.

I could make my mind up by choosing the member I like more, but HoF and Lupus are both really cool members....Damnit I still can't decide!!  This is a much harder decision than even FISSURE vs. Goroneater, (and that was a tough choice!).  I'll have to come back later after having thought about it more... :-\

EDIT:
I voted for the Acolyte as it seems more people have voted for Hane judging by the posts in this thread.  Sorry Hoffy, if I could forfeit my vote for tomorrow's fight I would just so I could vote for both of you. :P

This sounds like another close one. Damn it, why do I always have to go against my favorite characters? First Torpid Man, now Hane. It makes me almost wish that I do win so that they can go on.

The best of luck to you, Hoffy. I can truly say that I don't care who wins this one, because I want both characters to go on. It'd be nice if we could get a tie and have "Hane the Acolyte."

Hm, they're both good characters, but I'm not so much into either story (lol sorry guys), so it comes down to artwork... and I prefer the Acolyte :P

Hmm. I liked both characters, but do you think maybe the Christian imagery of the Acolyte put some people off...?

Where's the christian imagery?

Also HoF asked the question "Who will fall?" so isn't that what we were voting for? Meaning Hane "falls" because he got the post votes? >_>
