Not to be a total DICK, but honestly, you people have so many questions that could easily be answered by just looking it up on Wikipedia; or better yet, considering that you have played at least a few Nintendo games in your lives, you should at least know some of the history behind their creation.  For crap's sake, you're on the Internet.

I don't know, I guess people are just trying to score e-penis points by posting in a topic a girl made.  Anyway, yes, Miyamoto is a genius, but really, other developers are not so open about their personal lives.  Heck, no one really cares.  It possibly works out better for Nintendo in that he will talk more about the games that are out or have been made, thus increasing their sales - but then again, most of what he makes sells well anyway.

When I first heard this news I was like "OMG WTF?!" but I quickly realized why Nintendo did this. Because some of his hobbies turned into games that sold over a million copies. And they don't want other companies steal the ideas. So they have to silence him.

Hey, has everyone forgot about Gunpei Yokoi? The man who created toys for Nintendo and then created the Game Boy? Without him, we'd probably have no DS! We'd have no Link's Awakening, probably no Kirby at all, really. Miyamoto gave us Mario and Zelda, but Gunpei Yokoi gave us the frickin' GAME BOY!
