My new best friend is giving me his Playstation, so I kinda wanna know which games are the best to get.  After looking at a few Best Of lists and from what I've already played, I know I wanna get...

Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy 9
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Threads of Fate
Vagrant Story
Alundra (haven't played this one, but many descriptions said it was Zelda-like)
Legend of Mana
Klonoa

I really like RPGs (FF9 is the only Final Fantasy for PS1 I'm interested in) and sidescrollers, or platformers.  I don't care for fighters much, except for Street Fighter and Guilty Gear.  I like FPS games, but I've always played them on my computer, and I'm concerned about the awkwardousity of using a gamepad.

I've been playing Crash Bandicoots 1,2 and 3. I recommend them all.

I don't know, Twisted Metal 2 & 3. I played them a bit and they are alright.

Spyro, Crash, Medievil, Rascal and add Resident Evil + Alone In The Dark + Silent Hill if you like horror and riddles.

Most of the stuff on your list is amazing, especially FF 9, Metal Gear, and Klonoa.

Also, for fun: Megaman 8 and X4, great games I especially recommend, maybe X5 if you like it...

Also, I'm going to say it, get ready...

Chrono Cross... I had to... for some reason I love it... even if no one else does.
