I played all of them, the least you can do is make his jump slower, and try not to make levels where you fall you die a lot. it's feels more mario if you actually make a "ground level"

all you gatta do is try to "re-create" whatever your flaws are, the speed of jumps, and try not to put soo much enemies on the screen.
also, make ground floors, don't make too much holes.
