Transparency help

Well, I want to make my images with a "transparent" background, with no colors on it, so if I put it on the forums that has a red background, the background is the same color as the forum color, and I upload the same image on a forum with a white background, the background of the image is the color of the forum's background...
you know what I mean?

how do you do that?

You need to use an image editing program that allows you to set the transparency. What program are you currently using?

Google irfan view, and save in PNG: There are extra saving dialogues that you can bring up, one which allows you to click the colour that you want to be transparent.
