I'm gonna make a "guide to successful posting" designated for the "graphic" sections and I hope (if its good enough) that it'll be stickied.

1. When someone posts a sprite(sheet), title screen, tileset or any form of artwork, instead of posting "OMGZORZX DATS DAKOOLEDST THIngG EVAR!!11one" try to make your post more beneficial to the person who is displaying their art. Say WHY you do or don't like something, and give ways to improve the peice.

2. If something is really bad, don't come off as a jerk,  address the artist with maturity and kindness. Tell them how they can improve in a POLITE manner.

3. It's okay to compliment the peice, just be sure to say what you like about it or why you like it.

That sounds good, we need constructive posting guides for the entire forum though. :P

I can sum up your three rules in two words:

Constructive Criticism.

I had a paragraph about constructive criticism in my guid to successful posting in CS, but I think that that thing is mostly ignored nowadays.

Heh. Well I think people are getting better at using constructive criticism. I give people constructive criticism... like "Good job! Next time I would try adding [insert suggestion here] and [insert another possible suggestion here] that would make it look nicer. Keep up the good work!"

Before I was like "You suck, go home. 0/10"

Yeah, Issac's right, that's how constructive criticism should be given. You don't actually have to say that it's good if it isn't at all, but be nice about it instead and tell them how it's bad. The important thing, though is that most people will just say what they don't like, but they won't give details or explain how that could be changed, so the creator doesn't know how to please anyone.

It goes without saying but it's rarely followed. There are a select few who actually give C+C but all I see 95% of the time is just
