Funnily enough I can view that forum :D, and I know why.
Still, I'm in the same position on a different board, and I can't give awards. Or I just don't know how to.

No, there is a topic in the staff section to which this was brought to attention.  This was known about for a long time but just ignored.  I know all about it, but for the sake of what was said there I will not say more.  It is not about being a hidden moderator that makes this work either.

Because abuse of a flaw in settings is SOOO much fun and something that should be taken advantage of rather than reported, right?

I'm lucky I gave myself an award. "Mike was here!" was all I could come up with but I did want it as an award though.

Am I just totally being ignored right now? Anyway, I wish we still had the ability. It was the only admin ability I've even had since I was a staff member for that one day a year ago.

Uh, it was not an administrator ability just as it was a general capability allowed by a modification.  The permissions were probably lax so that awards could be made, and then when it was clear that it would be fully exploited, it would be put to an end, and this is that end.  I am just guessing.

It kind of is though. It's kind of weird how mods can add them though but then again, what isn't weird these days? I wonder if there are other things to be exploited?

The permissions I think were lax again. Before I became a mod I know me along with a few others could do it because we had some random member permission but then it was supposed to be taken care of then lol I guess it is now.
