Actually I'm fairly sure Geography is one of the subjects the average American fails miserably in at school nowadays. Then again, school systems everywhere (even here in England) are going to !@#$% nowadays. I personally blame the 'nobody gets left behind' attitude, which ultimately does nothing more than dumb down those with chances in life, robbing them of said chances, and still keeps 90% of the no-hopers without...well, hope.
I'm just glad my school was having none of that !@#$%. Hell, they went out of their way to make the smart ones have as big a chance as possible (I should have taken A-Level Maths at year 11 like some other of my classmates, but I was like one mark under a grade seven in a mock test in Year 7, and for some !@#$% reason that makes it impossible to do so, even though I ultimately ended up doing better at GCSE than a lot of the ones from that group that ended up leaving it, and did better than them in every. single. maths. test. afterwards. in. year. 7. onwards. I don't think that was fair, do you?)
