Game allows gamers to play the game in the normal way, though they can bring up video hints whenever they get stuck. These hints will appear in a screen that pops up in the top right corner of the screen.

Digest allows gamers to watch a video of a game developers play through of the game, which lays out the storyline and "flow of the scenario" from beginning to the end. At any time a player can press a button to jump into the action of the scene currently being shown. This is done by loading game saves downloaded automatically through a network.

My opinion?

Whats the point in this? A hint system? http://www.gamefaqs.com/ Cheaper way.

Actually that sounds brilliant. Like an advanced form of the developers commentry currently on some valve games (which I love btw). As long as its not forced on the user I think it will be very intresting to see developed.

Thing is its not a developers commentary, its a hint system for crap gamers.

Maybe, maybe not. We don't have a full explanation of how its going to work, just a vague patent. From the sounds of it its going to show developers playing through the game, which I'm thinking would probably come with some form of voiceover or another.

If it is just a "skip this part of the game" or "just do this for me" system, then yeh probably will be pointless. I would still love to see developers play through the game though. So long as its not enforced on the user I think its fine.

From what I understand, some games have this already.  From first hand experience with that god-awful, Alone in the Dark, you can actually skip parts of the game if you want to.
The only downfall is that you don't unlock the achievment for beating the game without skipping :p

I  can imagine the codec conversations now.

Navi: Link, where are you?

Link: I'm...in a crate.

Navi: What are you doing? You have to stop Ganondorf from using the Triforce of Power to start Metal Gear!

I'm looking forward to the part that lets you skip to any part of the game. Yay no more having to play through the entire game again just to play one small part of it! As for the rest, who cares? They aren't going to force you to use it, why complain?

:D I like that point right there. There are many times that I wish I could do that. So when does this feature start getting implemented?

Honestly, I think this feature should only be unlocked after the player has completed the game. Otherwise it would be kinda pointless to play the game because you'd probably have the urge to use that feature >_>..

From what it seems, it's for the people who aren't good enough to beat a certain part.  If you want to play through the game yourself, then just don't use it.  I like the idea, it would allow hardcore games to appear on the console while being able to still target the casual gamers.

According to Nintendo, this is supposed to introduce new gamers into the world of gaming.

These new gamers quickly spent all of their money on game guides.

If this means Nintendo will make the games more difficult, then I'm all for it.
