Italy deserved the win for that.

I think France played better and deserved to win, I think you could see that especially in the second half.

Yes it is his style, back in 2002 I believe, he stomped on a Saudi Arabian's back. WHen Zidane gets pissed off, he gets pissed off...

Anyway, weak PK to put France in the lead. Italy outplayed France for the majority of regulation, but France picked it up and dominated the final 15 and all of overtime. Good game though.

That's all I have to say now, although I am more than surprised by Zidane's behaviour, I believe the Italian player must have said something really bad to !@#$% off Zidane that much...

I liked the match... even though I'm against defensive playing...
I was supporting Italy, and they won, they were deserving a World Cup for long, since 1994, Di Baggio, Peruzzi and lots of great players...
Congratulations Italy, congratulations France, and congratulations to every team that got qualified or not in the World Cup, but that gave the best they could, and congratulations to everyone who supported their teams both in home watching with the friends or in Germany with a ticket that boss paid, congratulations for those that supported the fair-play (and a "STHU" for those that keep flaming Portugal >_>) and congratulations everyone for another great show of football and congratulations for making a good World Cup.

It's not like that, they just missed one... Besides, if it wasn't by penalties, the penalty shoot-out wasn't needed, or better, France would have lost against Portugal. All by Zidane's penalties...

Thats too funny man. Did you guys watch the match? If not it was France vs Italy, and Zidane got pissed at Materazzi and just headbutted him. BTW I did not make that gif nor am I claiming to have done so.

Damn, France outplayed Italy, it would have been nice if they won. I don't think Zidane getting sent off influenced the game that much, he was off more or less at the end - the only thing he could have been useful for is getting a penalty, taking the teams to sudden death, and Italy winning as time went on (since they had more good penalty takers...)

OMG what Zidane did was so funny, yet so brutal! I mean, maybe he could have pushed him, but what he did was just SOO random! Man, the Zid-butt will be the signature move for the next hobo-wrestling champion, I reckon. haha love the animation Pedlya. But I know why Zidane headbutted him!!!

Just to add to that, he also got a red card in 2000 for headbutting someone. He apparently did something in the 1998 world cup? I'm not sure though, I turned the TV on right in the middle of the segment...

Nope. That was the best World Cup I ever seen :) I still remember, being a kid and watching almost every match.

Dude STFU, Zidane is one of the best player France has ever known in history, his behaviour in that field wasn't right. Apparently, Italians are not very respectful towards colored people, and as you may already know, Zidane comes from Algeria. I believe Materazzi insulted his mother in a very very harsh way... It is also said that they were both exchanging not-so-nice words during the whole play.

Although, the red card was defenitely deserved, he should have kept his anger inside.

I understand Zidane, but still, it was a thing he should'nt have done, but yeah, I still understand him (i would have done the same thing if someone said anything serious to me like that xd).
Zidane doesn't do stuff like that because of nothing, he shows lots of respect on the pitch.
Really, really, really funking sad that Zidane had to end his carrier like this (if he really will). I was looking forward
to see him holding the trophy... or at least happy :-\ He has really been a hero, i'll miss him a lot if that was the
last time he was going to show off his awesome skills.

I just think it's funny.. out of all the things that he could have done.. shout at him, punch him in the face, kick him in the balls... he decides to headbutt him in the chest hahaha. At least he won't be forgotten :P
