Ok, apparently right before the match Zidane learned that his mother was terminally ill. That being said, Materazzi grabbed Zidane's jersey. Zidane said something to the effect of "If you want my shirt so much you can have it after the game" Materazzi repiled "No" Zidane said something else and Materazzi told him to "settle down" Then Materazzi said that he "wished a slow death to you and your family, go !@#$% yourself" *headbutt*

Lip readers as well as statements by Zidane and Materazzi were used to piece this together.

Ok, that was just a bit of news, my research reguarding Zidane's history has turned up this handy little list!

That could be correct, Zidane has said that Materazzi had said something about his mother and sister. He tried to
ignore him but Materazzi kept repeating and repeating so he couldn't hold back and gave him the headbutt.
He also appologized all children who was watching etc etc.
I read about this in a swedish newspaper :P
Respect +++++++++++++++ for Zidane.

Yeah, most of that came from what I believe was a BBC broadcast that I saw online that I was linked to in a discussion on IGN blogs.
