Pfft.  Who the !@#$% is he?  Do they think that people are going to try to make ideas based on his life?  They can just as well take ideas from their own daily activities.  It's not like Shigeru Miyamoto's hobbies alone have the power to inspire people.

Next thing you know they'll tie him up in the basement of Nintendo and make him do nothing but eat and design games. It'll be great for Nintendo!

Pfft.  Who the !@#$% is he?

I guess they don't want anymore good games.

Also how the hell can you ban the father of Nintendo.

Most of his hobbies and interests turn out to be good games that he makes, but the knowledge of such activities isn't enough information to give someone else ideas.  I think Nintendo just wants him to hush from excessively saying what he is interested in as he is then probably working on a game of a similar nature.  He knows that he is important to Nintendo, so I doubt this is bothering him; in fact, he probably sees the good in it.

... Wasn't Square criticized for making games that *they* want to play? Why is Nintendo any better? >_<

He likes to play the guitar too.
* MetaKirby is amazed when Guitar Hero: Miyamoto is announced seconds later

Still, that's interesting.

You are right 4swords, but it is sad that you can't talk with fans or people you randomly meet.

If my memory serves me correct.. Zelda is based off his childhood adventures. He lived around a forest and used to go and play in it with his friends..

The man has a wild imagination, realistically they're protecting trade secrets, if he's fine with keeping his life private, and Nintendo isn't infringing on that, then what business is it of ours?

I agree. I mean Both Zelda and Pikmin are really good series that were based off his activities..

...I'd laugh if somehow Project H.A.M.M.E.R. was based off an activity of his.

Wasn't Project H.A.M.M.E.R. canceled a while ago?

I don't remember that. I know it was canceled but never un-canceled.

A September 2007 issue of Famitsu reported that the game had been cancelled. Despite this report however, Claude Comair, CEO of Nintendo Software Technologies and Founder of the DigiPen Institute of Technology, stated in a talk with his students at the beginning of the Fall 2007 semester that he and NST were still currently working on Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

So if Pikmin was born of his love of gardening, Wii Fit was born of his obsession with his weight after he turned 50, and Nintendogs was born after him getting a dog, where did Mario come from? His love for plumbers who overthrow not only monkeys with barrels, but fire-breathing turtles? D:

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.

Didn't he name Mario after some Italian he worked for before Nintendo or something like that?
