Other Discussion / iTunes songs
« on: March 16, 2008, 05:14:23 pm »
Soooo... I've got iTunes songs here, from my old computer, which is effectively non-working (motherboard works, but not for extended periods of time) and as I'm not trying to use them from my old computer, it won't let me put them onto my iPod. Obviously I don't want to re-buy these tracks. Suggestions?

Other Discussion / Dear Bacardi
« on: January 01, 2008, 01:17:30 pm »
I don't care if your rum supposedly has a "nutty" and "distinctive" flavour, it still tastes like how nail polish smells, and has an after taste like a !@#$%. Seriously, I can't get the taste out of my mouth for at least a day.

See, it'd be fine if no-one bought your so-called "rum", but every time I go to a party, the only rum they have is Bacardi, and when I'm drunk, the choice between no rum and your rum seems pretty obvious, but every single time I regret it. In both of our interests (me drinking some nice rum and you keeping your testicles attached) I suggest you improve whatever passes for a recipe for you guys.

Personally, I find it very ironic that a brand of rum founded by a Canadian, named after a Welshman and currently produced by an English company produces a far superior drink to a well-known multinational drinks company that was actually founded in Cuba. Unless you clean up your act (and your taste) then good ol' Cap'n Morgan will be my main source of Caribbean-style sugarcane liquors.

Love,
A Concerned Alcoholic, esq.

Is there any way to make it harder? Because that game is WAY too easy.

This will probably come to be a debate about the nature of US law enforcement and/or gun laws, but at the moment, I'd just like to say this is very sad.

Debates / Chernobyl Reactor Fungus
« on: October 03, 2007, 03:30:19 pm »
They've found, in the still very radioactive Chernobyl reactor, a fungus that is metabolising the gamma rays... how cool is that?

http://www.scienceagogo.com/news/20070422222547data_trunc_sys.shtml

It even has various implications in terms of genetic engineering, future food production, and maybe even the clean-up of nuclear waste.

Discuss.

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=17570652 These guys are hilarious. It's a parody of REM's It's The End Of The World As We Know It, and it absolutely cracks me up.

Some stuff I recorded in France:

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=4075510669921218919&hl=en-GB

I apologise in advance for the dreadful camera work (wasn't me, as you can tell) and the poor quality of the google video. Audio quality's okay though, I guess.

Decided to work on some of my solo stuff, especially the live aesthetic. So, I recorded this: http://media.putfile.com/First-Day-Of-My-Life-Bright-Eyes-cover

It's just me, a guitar and a harmonica; I recorded the whole thing live, which is why some of it's a bit crummy. Hope you enjoy nonetheless.

Other Discussion / The very definition of irony
« on: July 23, 2007, 09:27:02 pm »
The Toaster Boy MySpace page - created by me and Halu to showcase our promotional songs for Toaster Boy in the ZFGC Character Battle (featuring the talents of Halu, Siri and I) - is actually getting more attention for the music industry than from ZFGC.

Despite me sending out literally dozens of invites to other ZFGC users to become friends of Toaster Boy, only two ZFGC'ers not on the Toaster Boy team have accepted. One's a competitor in the contest, and the other isn't very active to be honest.

On the other hand, despite Toaster Boy not making any actions towards the music industry, TWO music industry representatives - a UK-based recording company AND a band - have requested his friendship.

Indeed, this is the very definition of irony.

Shut the !@#$% up.

The right to fill the air with carcinogens is not some god-given freedom.

You may believe you have the right to kill yourself slowly, and I'm willing to concede you that.

However, in future, please do it in a way that doesn't kill everyone else in the room slowly too.

Choose something more socially acceptable, like heroin.

I like how they switch from talking about "Rain magic" to referring to the place as an area of "scientific interest".

Also, they're not even real pagans. They're like, fake-pagans. Fauxgans.

Entertainment / Minimal spoilers: Funny TP related conversation.
« on: January 02, 2007, 11:42:12 pm »
Conversation I just had with Fox, that I promised I would post on here. Enjoy.

Pyru:
if your criteria of "Tingle" is that he loves money, and dresses dreadfully...
Then LINK is Tingle
Fox:
the guy that comes after him
Pyru:
think about it
Fox:
no
not link is
Pyru:
Link steals money from people's houses
Fox:
BUT YOU ARE
YOU GREEDY PIG
Pyru:
and he dresses in that fruity green dress
Fox:
LINK IS ONLY A MARIONETTE
HE DOES AS YOU TELL HIM TO DO
IF IT WAS FOR HIM, HE'D STAY IN HIS HOUSE ALL THE GAME ALONG
AND NOTHIGN WOULD !@#$% HAPPEN
Pyru:
yeah well
he has 50 rupees in his basement
that proves he loves money
Fox:
lolz
BUT THEYRE HIDDEN DAMMIT
IN DARKNESS
WHICH MAKES NO SENSE
Pyru:
!@#$% it his house is huge
I mean, seriouslly
Fox:
indeed
Pyru:
he lives on his own
OUTSIDE OF TOWN
Fox:
LOL yeah
Pyru:
in a fuckin' huge house
Fox:
but its the same nowadays
Pyru:
but no stable for his frikkin' HORSE
Fox:
i think its even bigger than the mayors house
Pyru:
I mean, WTF.
Fox:
LOL

Pyru:

Fox:

Pyru:
That's the other thing!
WHO HAS HALF OF THEIR HOUSE AS A SUMO WRESTLING ARENA??!?!
Fox:
XD
IM HUGE I NEED A SUMO-ARENA
Pyru:
especially since he's the only one in town who sumo wrestles
and he only uses it once in the whole game
he doesn't even give his daughter her own bedroom
Fox:
xD
Pyru:
it's like he was having an extension built and he was all like
Fox:
XDDDDDDDD
Pyru:
"Ilia, honey, I know you're upset you don't get your own room... But I want a sumo wrestling arena, !@#$%."
*!@#$% slaps Ilia*
Fox:

Dude, that so has potential for a webcomic or somehting.
Pyru:
AND THAT'S HOW ILIA GOT AMNESIA.
for that matter
they're pretty well built houses
Fox:
LOLLLLL
Pyru:
but who built them?
there's not a single builder in town
I mean, seriously
they have a shop owner
who sells... slingshots
very useful thing, slingshots
everyone needs slingshots
Fox:
They all died from the big fire back then in 1912.
THE KIDS DO
Pyru:
especially when you live in a full of monsters and all that slingshots do is make the monsters mad
Fox:
xD
Pyru:
that's what pissed me off when the kid asked me for the sword
I was like
"!@#$% THAT"
Fox:
I actually need to go offline, but this is just too priceless to miss.
Pyru:
"I can't kill anyone without it!"
Fox:
akakjsdf??akd.
Pyru:
"TAKE. THE !@#$%. SLINGSHOT."
Fox:

I actually said "No" at first too
*lolz at your last line*
Pyru:
I mean, seriously
he was so crap with the sword
he was gonna get ass raped either way
I don't see why I couldn't kick his ass and go through anyway
Fox:
You could shoot him
Pyru:
if you wanna go somewhere and someone's blocking the way... well, there's always a way
Fox:
I did that quite some time
Pyru:
if I was Link, I would've got my !@#$% out and started pissing on him
Fox:
XDXDXDXD
Pyru:
Seriously, no kid, no matter how retarded, just stands there while you're pissing on his head

And it's pretty good. Using it to type this... only problem is, to read text without using zoom, you really need HDTV output.

Well, what do people think of it? I think it's a nice novelty. Sorta a poor man's version of Google Earth, spliced with a forecast system. Nice.

Also, rumours of intenet channel coming at the same time? Is it true?

Entertainment / Spoilers: ****** **** is OoT Link?
« on: December 12, 2006, 11:03:46 pm »
Golden wolf is OoT Link?

Not completed the game yet, so I dunno if this is explained later in the game, but here goes:

1. He's a wolf spirit... it's mentioned that all the Heroes have the "Spirit of the beast" or something.
2. He's dead (obviously) so he could be a previous Hero.
3. The topography of his spiritual Hyrule seems a lot more intact, and possibly more like OoT?
4. He takes GREAT interest in TP Link.
5. He refers to "our bloodline" - so is an ancestor or close relative of an ancestor of TP Link. As has been mentioned in MANY Zelda games, the line of the Hero is down the bloodline, so all the heroes are direct descendants of ONE hero.
6. He responds to songs howled by TP Link... and all of those howled songs are songs from OoT and MM - meaning they bear the most significance for OoT Link.

Well, opinions?

To block people on MSN?

I know I get a kick out of it. A REAL kick out of it. The kick grows and grows... for about two weeks or so, I guess. Then it wears off. But sometimes, it lasts ages. I mean, I unblocked someone the other two... who I'd had blocked for three years. And then I realised I hated them, so blocked them again. Gee, that was fun.

And you can watch him here:

Yeah. Pretty awesome. He'll be getting about 4 hours sleep a night, and will be gaming almost non-stop for the rest of the time. So far, seen him play Zelda and Madden.
